This thread goes to show what an inflated image the fans here have of our players. Sorry but Schneider is a nobody who has proven nothing and certainly does not deserve the Vezina. Every goalie up there played as much or more than him, had comparable seasons and when Schneider had those 4 bad games...he was bad. remember opening night? So what if he didn't get a vote. Not to mention there didn't appear to be much consistency yet, nor have any playoff success. There are always homer journalist that throws there favourite teams goalie a vote. GA SA GAA PCT Schneider 2 0 2 - 117 9 75 4.60 .880 Luongo 3 0 2 - 140 6 71 2.58 .915 Luongo lost "many" games? really? He only played 20. "many"? chrisbanks Posted June 16, 2013 Share Posted June 16, 2013 no one is saying he shouldve won.... you dont just vote for who you think is the best you vote for a 1st 2nd and 3rd spots and u get points ... the fact that 11 goalies received votes and schneids 8th in GAA (really 7th bernier only played 14 games) 4th in Save % and tied for 1st in shutouts shows he shouldve definitly recieved some 3rd place votes. ... goalie bob won the vezina ..first goalie in a long while to do so while not making the playoffs and main thing that he won it was because NY and SJ were far better teams than CBJ... and BOB was the only reason CBJ was in the playoff hunt..... Schneids was the only reason our terrible season turned around and we made the playoffs.. face it our team was next to awful this season .. we played with no heart or determination most nights and if it wasnt for a weak division we had no business being in the playoffs.. and it showed when we got knocked out in 4.. but for the most part Cory played great in the heart of the schedual and for many weeks there was a buzz about him playing his way into the vezina discussion .... so all that and 11 goalies receive votes ... cory deserved a couple 3rd place votes.
