oldnews
Half the team has a NTC..... Do they count against the salary cap?
Kryten
I couldn't be happier. This guy is a not only a coach's dream but is now a GM's dream as well.
BananaMash
Half the team has a NTC..... A limited NTC is different from a full NTC.
Warhippy
Now here is my question. With Hansen OBVIOUSLY leaving money on the table, does this mean we could get the twins under contract at a reduced rate again?
rawkdrummer
He's one my favorites for sure, GREAT deal for the Canucks!
Beluga Whale
Great signing for a hardworking, versatile player who shows up every night.
PavelsElbow
That is a fantastic signing. 2.5 for one of our hardest workers! Great job jan jan
Darth Kane
Great contract, 4 years is a good term, $2.5 million AAV is a steal today and it will only look better and better.
goblix
Wow. That is quite a statement on Hansen's part. The Canucks are sure fortunate. This imo is another deal like Burrows first four year deal - tremendous value for the team. Thanks Jannik. Nice to have you here long term. I agree Jannik draws a ton of comparisons to Burrows, similar type of players. I expect great things from hansen, one of the more consistent forwards on the team that you can depend on. Guest Cuporbust2
He was rated number 5 on a few top 20 defensive forward lists. This is an awesome value. Very exited for him and us http://m.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/globe-on-hockey/the-nhls-top-defensive-forwards/article576302/?service=mobile#!/
Strombone1
Now here is my question. With Hansen OBVIOUSLY leaving money on the table, does this mean we could get the twins under contract at a reduced rate again? I'd look at it as management cleared up space to make that 7.5m per as it was reported earlier.
Cyril Sneer
The man isn't the best at making a trade, but my gosh can he sign some players cheap.
Ghostsof1915
Even if we gave him a full NTC. At $2.5 million what he's done already in a Canucks uniform makes him totally worth it. He even came into camp in what looks like mid-season form. Great signing! And seriously, why in heaven's name would we want to trade this guy? AFrame14
'a little bit of Jannik Hansen'... Sadly Schnieder is gone so you won't here that anymore.. Very happy with this resigning tho. Great term and dollars
Smashian Kassian
Gillis hit a grand slam here. Great signing.
Jester13
Once again, another perfect example for all the GMMG haters out there: signing players to a discount! 2.5 AAV is a great signing for a heart and soul player like Honey Badger. Great news!
Warhippy
I'd look at it as management cleared up space to make that 7.5m per as it was reported earlier. The team cannot afford to give the twins a combined $2.8 million more on the cap with the cap not going up more than $4 million. We've to many guys to re-sign as it stands. The twins won't get a contract with a cap hit higher than their current one now.
