CroSen
So if Miller gets injured, the plan is Markstrom/Cannata? Right, that is way better then Lack....
WHL rocks
Not bad I'll take a high 3 rd. , 7th for lack.
Magikal
I really do not like this trade. No way to defend trading a goalie of lack's talent for a 3rd and a 7th. Ditch the Homer goggles. We are getting short ended.
firestorm238
I was OK with trading Eddie as awesome as he was - but that's an absolutely brutal return. Canucks need to find a way to get the Eastern Media onside. This constant undervaluing of our guys is really biting the team in the ass.
Trebreh
We couldn't get a decent prospect insead of the bs 7th instead?!
Rex425
An early third from this year's draft is basically a top 15 2nd rounder in normal drafts. Take the best available player, and the value is fine. I wish we would have gotten a 2nd tho. Still better than trading him to a team in the west for a late 2nd.
kloubek
Not pleased with this at all. Gonna miss Eddie. I don't think we should get on JB for such a low return though.... I'm sure he got as much as he could. The decision is whether or not you'd make the trade or not. And really, are we THAT much better of a team with Eddie, keeping in mind we would have to let him walk for nothing in the off season? Still crappy though. IMO, he was worth a 2nd. 87Crosby
I'd rather have Lehner. He's 24 and has 4 years left on his deal. Lack is just a fan favourite and that's why CDC is so attached.
canucks_kcchiefs
I think Lack is an average goalie and I don't think he will be more than an average starter. That being said, it was still a bad trade. Why is that?
WestlockWarrior
So if Miller gets injured, the plan is Markstrom/Cannata? Right, that is way better then Lack.... What do u propose ? We kept Lack and trade Miller. ? So if Lack gets injured then we go w Maelstrom / Cannata See I can do it too
Canorth
Now I know how it was like to be a fan in the messier era. Lol actually this statement demonstrates the complete opposite
DeltaSwede
Now I know how it was like to be a fan in the messier era. Jim benning is having a really bad draft. Our team is dieing and unfortunately benning is making it a painful long death rather than an honey able quick one. It's almost like we have traded the Twins for a 4th, burned Lindens retired jersey and gotten Marchand for Horvat.
Mad Cow Disease
I'd rather have Lehner. He's 24 and has 4 years left on his deal. Lack is just a fan favourite and that's why CDC is so attached. Never mind the fact Eddie Lack is quite a good goalie.
TheRussianRocket.
Theres no defending this. Its a brutal trade. Great job Benning. @MoneyPuck_: Here are recent deal comps to Lack trade. As @ThomasDrance said, 66th + 7rd is consistent w/market
WestlockWarrior
Why is that? Because Lack has never played more than 41games in 1 season. 41 games fatigues him extremely already by the end of it.
rkoshack
Can't complain much about the return, that's goalie trades for you The trading of lack in general is the mistake

No its not, the 3rd round pick is a 3rd round pick. Robin Lehner got a first, Martin Jones was the center piece for Milan Lucic, Anders Lindback got 2 2nds a couple of years ago. Lets not play games with this, goalies like Lack have gone for much more over the last few years, Benning got shafted.
