Daniel Sedin | #22 | LW

-SN-

Recommended Posts

A legendary player for the Canucks. But I have to say that it seems like he has declined even more so than his brother.

To be honest, he was never the same after Ducan Keith elbow.

Here is #1000

Funny how on the day the Canucks Dorsett must retire due to hockey related injury, Brock Boeser is nominated Rookie of the month and Daniel scores his 100th point that the Torontocentric story is an Oiler scores on his own net.

Just proof that The national media cover all hockey teams provided they are East of the Rockies and South of the 49th Parallel. :(

The fact that each Sedin's thread on this board is a mere couple of pages when they are HOF players and the backbone of this franchise for more than a decade but the board can get nearly 500-1000 pages going on prospects and far less important players is interesting...and a bit sad.   These two players are so taken for granted - you have two of the best players in the entire world over the 10 plus years who league the Canuck franchise all time in almost all offensive categories of note and yet you can find more posts about Virtanen's dietary preferences or Boeser's hairstyle.

To be frank, the Sedins are very known quantities and little has changed about them in the past couple of years that is exciting to talk about. Players like Virtanen are controversial and unknown, so there's much more to be discussed.

The crying around here will be outstanding once they retire.

That's because you are new here. The Sedin's have had more conversation on this forum generated than anyone except possibly luongo and that goofy burrows thread. As rookies there was much discussion about their ability to transition, later it was ice time and coach usage, splitting them and on and on. Then about their warrior like abilities to possess pucks to their MVP seasons. It's been done and done again

The sad thing is it's all over, the fun is wrapping up and it's not something a lot of us want to talk about over and over. We've each repeated ourselves hundreds to thousands of times about Sedin opinions and now it's on to the future.

You mean so much more to be "speculated and fabricated" on it seems at times.   I get that, I do, but I also think the respective HOF players for other teams have their equivalents with far more attention.   I don't just blame the board - look at TSN.CA this morning, NOTHING about Daniel on the front page yet I know that Nylander is "out of his slump", Laine's coach isn't worried about his "slump", and that Oilers picked up someone on waivers who will apparently help them turn around their epic franchise.

I am not even from Vancouver or even live in BC but I have always hated the biased against the West Coast.

Kinda sad if that is all true.

Sometimes you just have to look and laugh at how far ahead the Sedin's are in all-time Canuck scoring.  Congrats Daniel for 1001 and counting!

1.  Henrik Sedin C 1274 239 797 1036
2.  Daniel Sedin LW 1251 376 625 1001
3.  Markus Naslund LW 884 346 410 756
4.  Trevor Linden C 1140 318 415 733
5.  Stan Smyl RW 896 262 411 673

Incredible... absolutely incredible.

I think when all is said and done, the only player that could catch them would be Brock.

They added player threads not even 2 years ago.  There really isn't much to talk about them daily, they are constantly good players.  To imply that we are taking them for granted because of a post count in their respected threads is kind of ridiculous.
