Ghostsof1915
Really good goalies rarely stay top form their whole careers. Brodeurs, Roys, are rare. Look at Carey Price. Great goalie, but if he's not healthy, ouch. I'd sign goalies to 4 year terms max.

JeremyCuddles
Good deal imo. 920 save percentage over the last 3 years, his GAA took a hit last season but overall he is a really solid goalie. Scary thing is how up and down some goalies can be. I dunno about giving goalies more than 4-6 year deals but I tend to worry needlessly about things. If he keeps up his current play it's a really good deal.
Makaramel MacKhiato
He's young, worth the 8 years to lower the cap hit. In 6 years if he is starting to play poorly, they could trade him fairly easily.
rekker
A lot of money for a goalie who has not stepped it up in the playoffs.
coastal.view
i like it a lot go ducks go they really like to hand out long term high value contracts most of the ones they have handed out lately are retirement type deals kesler is happy perry is comfortable they also were generous to beiksa

spliced
Gibson flies under the radar but he's one of the best goalies in the league. This past playoffs is the only time he was maybe a bit disappointing, but the only reason the Ducks even made the playoffs was their goaltending. And the year prior there was a good chance Gibson and the Ducks would have made the finals but he got hurt.

I'll take Miller 300 out of 10 times over Gibson. We really should trade back for Miller. Markstrom for Miller + 2nd. Getirdun
Fanuck
They're going to need solid goaltending as Getz/Perry/Kes/Cog/ect are declining. Luckily for them their d is relatively young and mobile.
captainhorvat
Ducks are not concerned about the term at all because they know if he starts to suck by year 4 or 5, the flames will gladly aquire him.

Gibson isn't erratic, quite the opposite, he's been remarkably consistent.

Given the number of years and the AAV, his current size is probably not enough to justify the contract. Perhaps if he is now 6'6" and a bit more "chunky" to fill in more of the net the contract will make sense.
