Here it comes guys:

Tanev + Jake for Zaitsev + Marleau + Nylander.

Yuk . jakes going to take another step this year. It may not be a huge one ,but it'll show.Confidence is all this kid lacks. Once he feels he can handle the pushback just watch him soar. Big hits, fore checking hard on terrrified D just trying to clear the puck before that train crushes them. All the turn overs from said forced play will create options for him and line mates alike. Nylander is not worth jake and tanman.

Soft 3rd line, very soft Top line and Stech and Zeitzev are not Top 4 dmen.

I don't know how, in any way, that it would make sense to take TO's SCRAPS and bail them out of their Cap trouble to boot. How about everyone wait them out and "steal" their FA's that they are unable to pay. That would be the smart move to make and the most advantageous.

depends on how the pro scouts rate him and where Green and his staff see a fit. If its good for us, who gives two $&!#s if it helps TO or not?

well he certainly is slow cooking in terms of his development

the worry is he might not be fully baked till he is 30

and then will be past his peak

but he is an nhl caliber player

which means that so far jb has not missed on any 1st round draft pick

that is important giving the past management 1st round picks

sure but he's still 22, 23 in August. I think he's earned a shot a more top 6 time and if Green gives him that he'll perform as well or better than a lot of the guys in his draft class (http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl2014e.html).

good to stay optomistic

did you see him play top 6 much last season?

he mostly showed he was not able to handle that level of role

he might need another season of seasoning in a bottom 6 role still

I don't want this to happen.  I'm suggesting this might happen.  It provides a top six F and a top 4 D for JB (not that I agree with those valuations)

The Leafs dump salary to sign their UFA, and to extend Trouba - if they do trade for him.

Nylander is a playoff ghost and is on a very large long term deal.  To me this looks like three camp dumps for Tanev and Virtanen.  I am left with asking what are the Canucks getting?  Zaitsev top 4 and Nylander playoff top 12?  very curious as to what the Canucks are getting in this deal?

kids need a chance to learn and make mistakes, but maybe with 3rd lines coached to be more offensive he can get more chances that way too.

if you take a longer look at Zaitsev's time in TO its not the train wreck being suggested, yeah he's overpaid by 1 to 1.5 mil but if we can get an asset back with him it does balance things out. I'm starting to think he'd be a good fit with Edler. Zaitsev was a + player with Gardiner for 2 seasons and Edler would be a big improvement as a partner for him.

All that is fine, but the term in his contract is what does it for me, If he had one two or even three years left on his deal I'd be fine with it. It doesn't sound like there would be much to sweeten the pot if at all from Toronto's end so there won't be a much reward for committing to him for that long and helping Toronto out.

Also, the main reason Zaitsev wants a trade is because of the media in Toronto. He's really not going to any media relief here. We ran Gudbranson out of town this year so if he's looking for a long leash with fans this isn't the spot.

Zucker

I don't like Zucker either. I've always thought he was overrated and what he'd likely cost would not be worth it. He scored over 60 points in 2017-18 but has consistently been a 40 point guy and he's making as much as Horvat. He's also barely done anything in the Playoffs in his career. There are better ways we can use our assets, mainly keeping them.

Didn't they ask for Boeser last time?

The Canucks lose that deal, big time. Heck, even take out Marleau and the Canucks still lose that deal.

Tanev @ 50% (Add a prospect like Lind?) for Kapanen and Zaitsev

Trade For Zucker (What would it take?)

Zucker - Petey - Boeser

Pearson - Horvat - Kapanen

Roussel - Gaudette - Virtanen

Eriksson - Beagle - Leivo

Edler - Zaitsev

Hughes - Schenn

Hutton - Stetcher

Marky

Demko

Could make a real splash.

In the words of Benning "we are looking at all of our options"

Not much more he can say and EVERY GM in the NHL would say the same thing.    Still doesn't mean it will generate pages of speculation about what he actually meant and that if you take all of the letters of his statement, add three characters to every fifth one and then translate into binary code and back into one of the machine languages that is randomly assigned each day, you will find the words "Dubas can rot in hell if he thinks I am helping his CAP situation without having a sweet deal for the Vancouver Canucks"
