East: MON vs OTT: Ottawa in 5 BOS vs PHI: Philadelphia in 4 BUF vs CAR: Carolina in 5 CBJ vs PIT: Columbus in 4 West: STL vs LAK: Las Angeles in 5 DAL vs EDM: Dallas in 3 COL vs SJS: Colorado in 4 CGY vs ANA Calgary in 3 GL all! Excited to see all of your guys picks. This new format makes things really interesting.. I have two underdogs as my picks in the East with the Canes and Flyers. Lets have some fun out on the ice boys and girls! Les go! Spoiler Reasoning why I picked what EAST SERIES 1 #8 MTL vs OTT #9 ------------------------------------------------------- OTT wins (This series is so incredibly close to call. I believe goaltending will be one of the largest factors in this series. Mike Smith and Ben Bishop could play huge roles in either teams success. A healthy Jake Guentzel makes them think OTT has the edge) EAST SERIES 2 #5 BOS vs PHI #12 ------------------------------------------------------- PHI wins (Philadelphia has scary elite talent at the top of their lineup. If the Penguins in the NHL were a Round Robin team I would likely lean Boston. But the sure talent philly in Miller, Zib, Crosby, Zucker, and their goalie tandem, I have to lean towards the flyers) EAST SERIES 3 #7 BUF vs CAR #10 ------------------------------------------------------- CAR wins (Carolina would be my favorite hands down if Samsonov was healthy but with him out in it may make this a close series. Letang's health always seems to be a question though so I am going to go for the supreme firepower Carolina has in its Round Robin Players.) EAST SERIES 4 #6 CBJ vs PIT #11 ------------------------------------------------------- CBJ wins (Could be a close series given the Penguins volume of play-in players. I cannot bet against myself though. I believe my play-in depth should give me the edge *I hope* but Panarin, DeBrincat, and DeBrusk could easily destroy my world) WEST SERIES 1 #8 STL vs LAK #9 ------------------------------------------------------- LA wins (St Louis really has some talented players on play-in teams. But I cannot shake the fact the Kings have a lot of playoff experience and some promising young talent to compliment it with Kevin Fiala and x factor in this series Sergei Bobrovsky) WEST SERIES 2 #5 DAL vs EDM #12 ------------------------------------------------------- DAL wins (Dallas simply has more depth and is better equipped for what could be a long playoff run. Really strong depth pieces near the bottom of their lineup) WEST SERIES 3 #7 COL vs SJS #10 ------------------------------------------------------- COL wins (Colorado simply has more playoff depth. Both teams will hurt from having round robin contributors but I like COL's depth more.
