They broke it down in the athletic today.  Basically when you are on your strong side (Right side for right shots, left side for left shots) it gives you more options.  When you skate towards the goal you can pass or shoot.  On the one timer side if you are facing the goal you can basically only shoot, if you want to pass you have to change your body position.  Playing on the strong side encourages movement.  You're more static on the one timer side.  That was the gist of the article.

There was a lot of movement. Not just the puck, but real hockey players rotating in and out of positions and taking advantage of space.
