If you're me, it's impossible because I'm shooting it into the goalie's extremely quick chest, so the net is completely safe from being hit by a puck. Normal, somewhat not terrible hockey players make that shot pretty easy. All seriousness, going cross body with the shot can be surprisingly difficult, especially when you're in a position you have zero expectation of ever being in 'without opposition'. Defensive defencemen never really get a chance to walk down to the low slot so the adrenaline can get going pretty good on the excitement. If you're a lefty shooter, going "stick side" is usually easier than going to that right side from in tight, the angle is just much easier.
