Oh no we beat the Oilers! Some of you don't even sound like Canuck fans. I get wanting a high draft pick but I like seeing our team win, I like seeing our players do well and feel good about their game. You know Highmore is gonna go into next season with confidence and I think he can be a solid bottom 6 contributor.

 

Highmore and Graovac are welcome back. Maybe Boyd too if Sutter isn't back. Bye to Vesey and Hawrlyuk. Michaelis should be in Abbotsford.

 

Add Podkolzin (and Petey back) to the top 6 and this team is much better. These guys will be able to take the strong breakout passes Rathbone and Juolevi can dish and actually convert on them.

Being at 5 doesn’t guarantee you anything but at least you have more options to catch a stud that slips out of the top 3-4.

Getting a Clarke, Edvinsson, Hughes is exactly what this team needs.

We will get a very good prospect at 9-12 too.  Ceulemans or Morrow would be great to have, and one of those two for sure should be there when we pick.

No one even knows how to rank these prospects with so little or no time played. I really don't think it even matters where we draft from even if we won the lottery there is no player that stands out.

Juolevi has looked solid in all the games he played not even remotely an issue. 

Podkolzin hasn’t played a game yet so we can hold off on that.

 

So that’s Pettersson and Hughes plus two underwhelming picks.

 

Basically 50% hitting on his top 10 picks with one undetermined.

 

Dont need a draft guru to get those results. Yes Hoglander and Demko are also studs but after 7 drafts odds are you should get at least a couple studs there.

 

Benning can no longer lean on his drafting in my books.

He hardly brings nothing he is just not a top 6 player either he is not going to command big term or $ if we decide to keep him.

Well who in their right mind would sign an ECHL goaltender to 4.5 million a year?

I wasnt talking about Highmore. I was talking about Boyd today but really all the years we have seen scrubs light it up against teams resting for the playoffs and all the proclamatiobs how great they are as Benning re-signs them. Its a pretty common theme with the Canucks.
