JR clearly said if they can’t sign him they will be actively trying to trade him and get an asset back. He will not walk with no return. Hopefully this soothes the spazzing! Haha Nor should he, this needs to be resolved this summer. We can't lose top assets for nothing, I'm glad management sees that. Yeah, I can understand and sympathize with fan frustration. But I think it would do a lot of folks some real good to realize that what they are perpetuating is emotional carryover from the past and not based in the status quo. it doesn’t matter if a previous GM or two “let you down” when it comes to this franchise and your hopes and dreams. The current group deserves time to establish their own identity. it’s like entering a relationship and the casting all these projections from the past onto your new partner. You’re predicating/expecting failure to control your own comfort and validity. They are not beating around bush and said they want to turn this team to a contender in 2-3 yrs. JR was asked this again by Dhali and he said it again. Around 13:20 mark: They admit the D issue and said it won't be a quick fix and will take time. They don't go on live mic and say they are "living day to day" like the last management. I also trust that when JR said his tenure is also about managing up, or else he won't take the job. AQ should have less say and interference, or else he will walk. The biggest difference this time is we actually have a hall of famer builder running the team for the first time. And that gives me hope. I was excited when JB got hired and wanted him to succeed.
