So if Brock takes his QO and is getting paid over $7M as a pure goal scorer who has never scored 30, what should Bo’s ask be as an actual 30g scorer, faceoffs specialist, hard matchup guy who is the captain?
‘I worry more about what Brock does to the salary structure if he sticks on QO.

If Boeser demands too much, I would think JR/PA will trade him without much hesitation.

Right??? Because in his rookie year he would have never scored 1 more goal in those 20 games he missed do to injuries! What a bunch of dummies.

Did he score 30 goals, yes or no?

It’s called projections (“on pace”).  Much like how you “projected” JV could easily replace Boeser a few years ago.  It was possible but didn’t turn out that way.  Same as people saying (projecting) Garland would get an extra 15-20pts if he replaced Boeser on PP1.

But I agree Boeser is not a 30g scorer yet.  But he is a consistent 20g scorer 50pt player with some upside.

Projections are great, but you can't call him a 30 goal scorer.  Can we call Jake a 20+ goal scorer?

I just said you were right that you can’t call Boeser a 30g scorer because he hadn’t achieve that yet.

But it’s also not wrong of other posters saying “on pace”…

Both statements can be true.

Lol on pace. What a botched theory. Sheldon remple was "on pace" to score over 20 goals and 40 points over a 82 game season. Think we would get good stuff back for him?

What?  Sheldon Remple has played 11 NHL games so far and hasn't scored a single point.

Brock has never played 82 games, so it is unknown what he might have scored.  Maybe someday we'll see what he

can do in an 82 season.

Boeser is a decent 25 goal scorer with potential to be around 30-35 if he can stay healthy for a full season. A very vocal part of these boards don’t care and consider him slow and useless not suited for todays game and want to get rid of him or even let him walk. I mean if you ain’t big and fast = u ain’t suitable for the style the canucks wants to play.. then we need to literally get rid of the whole team.. no one is really big and fast maybe miller podz and bo.. everyone else is either big and slow or small and fast  Quinn is fast but tiny.. EP is like a stick man and not particularly fast at least according to some of the ppl on this board. So we might as well just tear the whole team down and start from scratch again.

I'll hold the L on this one. I meant to say Sheldon dries not remple:P

Full 82 games is kinda rare tbh. I think I recall a young buck named Miller scoring even less then boes at the same age and exploding come prime age. I would be cautious as we improve as a team that he can't also improve as he gets closer to his prime

@mll is today the last day for team elected arbitration, or has that passed already?

2 July.  They can also file after qualifying him (17/18 July) but he would be able to sign his QO before they can file.

Here are the key dates:

  • 1 July                   1st buy-out window opens
  • 2 July                   Deadline for 1st team elected salary arbitration notification
  • 7-8 July                2022 NHL Draft
  • 11 July                 Deadline for qualifying offers
  • 12 July                 End of the 1st buyout window.  RFAs may start talking to other teams.  Last day to sign an 8-year contract.
  • 13 July                 Free agency.  Players may sign their QOs.
  • 17 July                 Deadline for player-elected arbitration notification.  2nd team-elected arbitration notification starts
  • 18 July                 Deadline for 2nd team-elected arbitration notification
  • 22 July                 Qualifying offers expire automatically
  • 27 July - 13 Aug  Arbitration hearings

I wonder if its being considered... its one way to bring that AAV down. If the plan is to trade him anyway, maybe this makes sense?

Still a bad comparison.  Dries has 59 NHL games and 9pts.

I have concerns about Brock as well, but there more about his injury issues.  I think he will work very hard during the

offseason and come to camp ready to play.  If he doesn't prove himself this season, he probably never will.

Doesn't sound like they want to go that route per Dhaliwal/Drance.  Rutherford has said a few times that if they can't figure a deal (he mentioned 2-3 years) they can bring him back on that 1-year 7.5M QO.

boes is going to have a huge year this year. he'll be determined to do way better than last year, he won't have his dad's situation on his mind 24/7, while at the same time he'll be playing to honour his memory

here's hoping he does it for the canucks and not someone else.

I'm pretty sure Boeser will be back. I can't see management lettign him go when we would still have his RFA right this season AND we arent against the cap.  It would be asinine to let him go for nothing.

The comparison was simply because I don't agree with the projected points. It makes you over value players and pay them based off hope. I did use an extreme example obviously.

I would trade boes if you get more value than he brings to the club. Which is 25ish goals and around 60 points. I don't trust his shoulder Shruggs he does one bit
