Has he shown anything since his rookie campaign that would indicate he is worth more than he is currently makin? I'd say no.

Yeah. I agree with you on that he probably doesn’t deserve more than 5-6M.

But that’s not how he and his camp are going to see it. I think this could be a difficult negotiation between Brock and the team.

why does everyone seem to like Parayko?

He's massive, plays RD, can hit like a truck and is real smooth on the puck. Plays in all situations, fits in with elite players, puts up 30-40 points, and 6-10 goals a year with a cannon from the point.

.. cause he is a Tryamkin clone ;)

Not even close.
Parayko is a great dman who is doing great in the NHL.  He also willingly uses the body and doesn’t need to be asked by coach to play physical.

Tryamkin was so so in the NHL and other than a couple highlights, played like a kitten.
He sucked.

Imagine him playing with Hughes.

Perfection. He's like Myers with a shorter neck but really good at hockey. ::D Joking, no dis at Myers but Parayko skates and moves his body like he's an average size player. You don't notice him as the big gawky guy who has trouble controlling his body or making plays alongside other elite players. His skating is terrific and smooth, and he averages big minutes.

Boeser and Rathbone for Parayko

c'mon, do it

Why would St. Louis do that? They just signed him to an eight year extension back in September.

Top 4RD, especially one like Parayko, are worth a lot more than Boeser and potential in Rathbone.

Not only that, but they're hurting their D in a big way without filling that void.

Blues are 7th in the league for goals scored with their forwards as is, they're 11th in goals allowed. Their powerplay is 3rd and their PK is 8th with Parayko in the fold. They're in a playoff spot too, this move makes no sense for them.

I totally agree with you on paraykos game, and to be honest I’m still baffled as to how the last management grip let Tryamkin slip away, they seemed not to do their due diligence on the money conversion/ cost of living and how it effected Tryamkin.

But what if eh?  ..

He’s doing well in the KHL, 21 min TOI,

a pk specialist , and +10 .

You obviously haven’t seen Tryamkin play for some time.

He is actually still playing hockey.…and we still have his NHL rights until June 2022.

with the right management, we could have both players. We give up nothing acquiring Tryamkin,.  But possibly gain an asset to move in a trade.

OEL    Hughes     Rathbone    Parayko Tryamkin    Myers.

^^. Could be a brick $#\+£*^<# for D hockey..

and then some.

I know he is still playing, and doing fine in a lesser league.   I also don’t care.
He was ok here.  I’m sure he’d get a bit better, but with his age, thinking he would turn into Chara or Parayko is unrealistic.
He was tall.  Big whoop.

What kind of pro athlete turns down the chance to play with the best, and just settled for 2nd-3rd?
That’s not someone with the drive to give their all.
Im gonna take a page from Alflives….

The guy is a big old bustaroo.
Total loser.   He sucks.

I’ll let this conversation go to the Tryamkin thread, where it belongs ,. Cheers and good will to you.

Tryamkin was the highlight of the 2016-2017 season. He skated so well for a big player and was punishing physically when he dished it out. I was hoping Myers would be as entertaining to watch but he is more lanky than big and doesn't skate as well as Tryamkin, and isn't as physical either.

Now I am not saying he was amazing for us but there was so much raw potential there. Hugely disappointed we've failed to bring him back.

Considering that he's 6'8 and 255 pounds, he skates extremely well for someone that size.

It’s baffling that’s for sure, I hope the new management group analyzes all players that we still have on paper and in our system .

Except that, by all accounts, isn’t what actually happened. Benning agreed to a fair contract as did Tryamkin then Benning told him he would have to wait until he cleared some cap or take less to get a deal done earlier. Tryamkin was burned by waiting the previous year by Benning and almost lost out on a khl contract as a result. It’s understandable he wouldn’t just take Benning’s word on anything. It’s also understandable he would choose a 2 year khl contract so he would be a UFA when it ended and he wouldn’t have to deal with the Canucks.

Maybe now that Benning is gone, and a far more respected and competent general manager in Rutherford is here, Tryamkin will give it another shot.
