Horvat is an elite faceoff git, literally one of the top 5 in the world and that's a big factor in the Canucks even being remotely close to a playoff spot

In a league where possession is critical, losing one of the best possession faceoff guys on the world would be catastrophic, yes.

But its also what you do with that possession that counts

Miller's start last year sucked, about as bad as his start this season.

Difference, so far, is he began scoring at a higher than career average rate, and got a bit better defensively. Hopefully the same happens this year- and then they trade him.

The management may decide to do this with the right returns

Rather than say Horvat ,Miller, Boeser etc are for sale, they saId Everyone is, but EP, signalling that they have good players, but not the ones they want to build a team from if they get the choice to move some

Does it truly matter who we trade when the return (as directed by our owner) has to be current NHL players? It’s just shuffling the deck.  We need improved key core pieces.  Those come via the draft. We need picks; the higher the better. And lots of them.

We are gonna take a step back once we move Bo. Gonna be hard to replace his offence and reliability.

It is what it is though. Can’t really afford him anymore.

That's the thing though, if we start moving out guys like Boeser, Garland, Bo, Myers etc. we all have to understand that this team won't be better. You usually have to get worse before you get better. That's why it's frustrating when they say they want to re-tool, because I feel like that means they won't acknowledge this....

…what?

J.B. got fired, Stan was brought out as the interim GM.

Had a press conference, talked about re-establishing the Canucks identity- pride, hustle, caring about the uniform.

So they hired JR a couple of days later.

God imagine Bo lifting the cup after having it passed to him by Brad Marchand. Mixed emotions right there lol

Well no one will be passing anyone a cup in Vancouver, I'm sure he'd gladly take one from Brad.

This team needs a Brad Marchand character on this team.

Wow, those might be the right teams, but not the right returns.  Boston would have to be Lysell and Carlo (likely plus a pick) which would be fair on both sides.  In what world would Detroit trade their future #1 in Cossa without taking Demko?  These may be the right teams, but certainly aren't the right deals that Sportsnet came up with.

The Carolina one seems a little more realistic…

agree, I do not see the Canucks wanting Beecher, I see they add mcdonaugh in the proposals but it would be smart to add Schenn so that we get a younger r right shot d and the team receiving bo and Schenn gets a short term replacement for the young right shot D they give us.

Ex

To BOS

Bo

Schenn

To VAN

Lysell

2023 1st

Unless the team does an about face and signs Bo, this is essentially the deal we should make and move on.  Schenn comes back to Van on a multi-year deal after winning the cup again (1.25Mx2).
