Other than the fact it is Edmonton?

He's coming from Russia, so Edmonton is probably like paradise. The opportunity to play with two of the best in the world might be too tempting.

LA is another possibility, if he's seeking to live and play in La La Land.

I don't know. If I were him?  Looking at the Canucks roster and recent success. There isn't much there. Maybe that first interview went so well, VAN deserves a second look. One last pitch to bring him here. I'm sure JR will pull out all the stops, bring Boudreau back in for it. Be pretty sweet if they also signed UFA Malkin to seal the deal.

Kuzmenko - Malkin - Podkolzin

Kuzmenko is a powerplay specialist.

Ask yourself which powerplay he has a better chance of cracking. Hint: it’s not the one with McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Yamamoto, and Nurse.

Thats the only thing he should be looking at. He may get minutes with McDavid 5 on 5 here and there but the powerplay is where he’ll get most of his points.

Vancouver has a top 10 powerplay plus opportunity. Should be a no brainer.

Seems odd. Maybe he's a big nickleback fan?

From the world of baseball:

Did the Angels eventually break the losing streak? Who freaking cares!?

I think he can bump Yamomoto.

Yamamoto put up 20 goals and 40 points at 23. Hrs the guy they’re going to invest in long term not some guy looking to cash in for one season.

I think you also might be overestimating how much his point totals will translate to the NHL. I’d be surprised if he put up more points than Yamamoto next season.

Lol you need an actual player to replace boesers 25 goals.. and no he wasn’t injured at all last season.. and because injury is part of the game winger depth is even more important and we have 0. Miller will never be a winger on the canucks. Pearson is ideally not ur top 6. Bruce doesn’t view garland or hoglander as a top 6.. so outside of podz we have 0 top 6 wingers.. pretty sad winger depth.. if u have to fill ur top 6 with a bunch of 3rd 4th line wingers and not 1 of them is a sniper. You listed 11 players minus miller.. only 1 player you can say is a legitimate top 6 or possibly top line player.. pretty sad depth no?

I agree regarding Hoglander, but the only winger to get more even strength ice time than Garland was Boeser. Garland was 5th among our forwards in TOI per game and 4th among forwards in ES time per game. He averaged more ES time per game than Pettersson. What makes you think Bouda doesn't view him as a top 6 forward?

Btw Boeser, your sniper, was 12th among our forwards for goals per 60 ES minutes played. Even Hoglander was ahead of him.

i mean the coaching staff insist on putting boeser on Miller's wing regardless of it not working.. i've always perferred Boeser with EP rather than Miller. his ES goals in the latter part of the season all came playing with EP not miller. look at our powerplay setup.. boeser is not even in a shooting position in the setup.. Miller is playing the left side shooting position and boeser is down below the goal line.. when our powerplay was good back in 2019-2020 boeser is in the position currently occupied by miller. but since the 19-20 season.. boeser been playing closer to in front of the net and now below the goal line. ain't gonna score much from back there..

Garland getting more ES mins then Pettersson.. why it's not that hard to see why.. Garland plays in the top 2 line.. Pettersson plays on the 3rd line with whatever scrap they decide to give him.. he gets most of his time on the PP.. being on the top 2 line u are either playing with Miller or Horvat.. if they are on the ice.. chances are you are on the ice.. are you going to put EP Dickinson/chaisson/hoglander/lammiko/highmore on ES over Miller with better players Boeser/garland/Pearson/podz? or horvat for defensive assignment?

just coz he's 4th or 5th amoung our forwards doesn't really mean much.. it just means there's no other option to put out there. Garland is more like an energy guy that can occasionally put the puck in the net.. he got hot in the last month of the season scoring 16 points in april.. if he was to continue his pace prior to april? he would have had his lowest points per game since his rookie season in arizona.. and that's playing with much better players than arizona.

if the management views garland as a viable top 6 forward.. why are there so much rumors in trying to move him? he's cost controlled for many seasons to come.. and the canucks are not exactly swimming in players that are top 6 capable.. Garland on a contending team ideally would be a 3rd line winger that can play up the lineup like pearson when needed.. in the covid paused season in the qualifying and 1st round of playoff.. Garland was very ineffective in the series win against nashville and the lost against colorado.. he have a big heart but he's simply too small to be effective as your top 6.

I agree with ur takes on. Kuzmenko and I’m not convinced he will be that effective 5 on 5

Love that honesty from our bossman!! Hope he and Podz can charm Kuzmenko! And I don't see why he wouldn't wanna join having a familiar face here plus a guaranteed top 6 spot!!! We need any affordable talents we can get this offseason!!

Don't be so easily impressed. What is he supposed to say? He's not interested? Every single GM who's trying to do their job will say something above. Until we see results, everything is all talk. It's funny people haven't picked up on this.

Isn’t there a story about McPouty whining to the coaches about not wanting to play with Poolparty?  Imagine a Captain doing that.

I mean why would you want to play with him he pretty much well plays only with McDavid or Draisaitl and only got 36points.
