Just starting to listen to the game on SN650. Man, this Abby commentator is amazing. What's his name?

Brandon Astle. For a while last season it first started off with James Cybulski and then they rotated in a few people like Chris Faber from Canucks Army and another guy who does BCHL games but once Astle came into the mix, he changed it all for the broadcast.

Should Shorthouse or Batchelor ever decide to move on from calling Canuck games, Astle would make a fantastic play by play commentator.

Shutout for Martin, yet the crazy thing is that Silovs will start Friday.  Colliton has been adamant that he's alternating the two goalies

Both played so well down the stretch, wonder if they want to reward Martin due to his seniority in the AHL but also reward Silovs for playing such a pivotal role between November to February for the team. Would be great experience for Arturs too to play high stakes hockey.

Agreed. I like both Shorty and Batch, but Astle certainly has a gift for doing play by play.

Listened to the whole game at work before the boss pointed out I was listening to an ahl game.

It was a  great call, and sounds like a hell of a game.

Martin, getting that swagger back.

Sasson and Höglander :metal:

The defence!

Wooo!

Let's go Canucks :towel:

the biggest issue with HOgz in Van this year was that he was going to lose his waiver expemtion, that's why he was sent down when he was and why he stayed down

The waiver exemption was the reason Hogz was not recalled to Vancouver (one more NHL game and he would have lost his waiver exempt status). But that is not why he was sent down. He was sent down because he wasn't playing well and the decision was that he needed more development. Also, reading between the lines of what was said at various times, it seem pretty clear that the fact that Colliton is a very good developmental coach who ran a tight ship in Abby while JR and PA did not like the approach taken by Bruce was important.
