Thems big words. Yet I tend to agree. Finagle a right shot defenseman somewhere and I see a playoff run in the works. This city needs just that.

Colorado is top line heavy.  Without Kadri they don't have a better 2nd or 3rd line than us.  Compher, Cogliano and Helm are currently their 3rd line.  And Newhook, a rookie, is going to be their 2nd line centre.  And they have 2 backup goalies.  Can Makar and MacKinnon do it again with a weaker supporting cast?

You know Sam, we've had our disagreements in the past and that's fine. But trying to point me towards another team because I don't see eye to eye with you on this matter is pretty low.

Well,.  You seem to have a huge disagreement with management here..  perhaps a lack of faith , is a better term?

I am okay with Miller deal? I didn't expect new management group was going to go to 8 million X 7 yrs with modified trade list after year 4.

I think signing any star player at 30 to 7yrs or 8 yrs is a risk in the last 2 - 3 years..

Rather have Miller then Huberdeau same age 10.5 million X 8 years

Kadri 32 -- 7 yrs X 7 million..

It will be interesting if Vancouver can sign Horvat to AAV  7 yrs X 6.7 million..

 Horvat --Kuzmenko - Next summer

Petey, Podkolzin - 2 years

Management will be trying to free up more cap room for next summer...

Team might have to trade a winger make more cap room...Find a player in college or Europe

Boeser 6.65 X 3  , Garland 4.95 X 4 , Mikheyev 4.75 X 4,  Pearson 2 X 3.25 , Kuzmenko 950,000 X 1yr , Podkolzin 2 yrs X 950,000

Dickinson C/W 2 yrs X 2.65 ,  Joshua 2 yrs X 850,000 -- Lockwood  1 yr X 750,000

If a winger is moved it would be Boeser or Garland....

Sorry forgot Hoglander 1 yr X 891,0000

I mean if people did that during the later stages of the JB era you'd probably mistake our arena attendance for the Coyotes.

Don't worry, I'll come around just for you. As a treat.

No offense and all respect Coconuts, but to use one player’s signing as rationale to be not as excited about or loyal to this team is kind of an excuse.

Maybe you’re just worn out. I’d understand that. But there’s a lot of stuff to root for and be encouraged by. If you can’t latch on to that and still support the club then it’s just your loss and hopefully you find something else to be as passionate about as you’ve shown here on CDC.

all the best to ya!

Canucks are realistically 2 defensemen and a good PK specialist away from being a contender in the west now.  Not sure how that happens without finding a diamond in the rough but the foundation is there.

This Miller signing makes me feel like they've now solidified some other moves.  How could they not.

Thinking the Flames and Oilers fans just got a little nervous, probably hoping VAN would trade their best offensive player and tank. No way, Canucks are going to get one of those playoff spots, You can sit this one out Calgary. Bruce will get them there, and Kuzmenko will be a secret weapon. Good vibes this season.

All signs were pointing to the Canucks full sending the next 4 years.  That’s why resigning JT Miller wasn’t a surprise.  I’m surprised they were able to get him for a million less than what he would have gotten in the free market. And if you add this year at 5.25 mill to 7 years at 8 mill it works itself out pretty reasonably.  Why sign Mikheyev and go after Kuzmenko hard if you’re not going all in on this team.

I keep hearing “we’re bringing g back the same team”. We’re not tho. Our young players will get bigger and stronger they won’t be the same.  Hoglander Hughes Podkolzin and Pettersson. Are all 23 and younger.  We have great contracts with Demko and Garland.  I think a new system where the forwards come back to help out our defence will go along way into improving our overall team defence.  Let’s see how our D preform when they’re getting more consistent help from our forwards.

We’re full sending for a Cup with our young core and I’m stoked.

At this point we should seriously look at getting a top 4 RHD.  With Miller locked in for the next 8 years total this is our window now.  We aren't trading anyone for picks and prospects.  Horvat should get done I would assume, so maybe one of our high paid wingers plus either Höglander and/or Rathbone would be in play...

I don't think the Flames or Oilers will miss. Flames got better for next year and Oilers can outscore their way into the Playoffs.

Would be nice to see one of them in the playoffs.

Defensively yes, but I think Kadri and Hubs will decline heavy. Time will tell though…
