We're getting harder to play against. Everyone seems to be playing with more bite. At least that 2nd isn't for a while yet. We'll be better by then too. If a defenseman takes liberties with Petie we should overlap a tough Dman on the next forecheck and Myers or Stillman can knock the crap out of him.

DownUndaCanuck
He's going to start on our bottom pairing for sure and may eat some more minutes, did a decent job last year on a bad team to be fair. Xur
So the Canucks just got better and it cost a 2nd rounder. I remember when we got Dickenson and alot of people, myself included, thought it was great. It sucks he didn't work out here. I wish him all the best. I was on team Benning for a long time. I now see that Allvin is a big upgrade. I think the Canucks are going to use this year to find their identity, and surprise alot of people. Then 2024 they are going to enter their window for a chance at the cup. A 2nd rounder in 2024 is unlikely to make the odds of winning the cup better during the window. This trade does. Great trade. I still dont get how they could pull a Harmonic for a 3rd round pick trade last season. They dumped salary and got something in return at the same time. Looks like a miracle now. 1 1 1 1

For years we’ve lacked pushback, now we’ve got more than several guys infused in the line up that can answer the bell. It’s actually nice seeing our guys taking runs and throwing open ice hits. One from Joshua tonight and one from Lazar towards the end of the game. 3

It just doesn't sit well with zero offense and drive coming from the right side!! The QH on right side experiment was over quickly when he got hit on his blind side a couple times... Even when Myers is back healthy, the D still lacks balance. Too bad Woo is still not ready for NHL...

Used to be almost every fringe player was willing to drop the gloves and protect themselves plus their teammates. Stars (or any player for that matter) get a dirty or clean hit/play and watching our leaders/players just do a fly by (happens on other teams too) without even a sideways glance... has been a little unbearable at times. Stillman answering the bell because someone gave his goalie a snow shower .... fighting back for things like that for sure has been lacking for a long time. A big no no. Protect your goalie at all costs. He gets that at least. Guys like Stillman, Burroughs, Lazar etc at least know what side their breads buttered on. Not that our team is that tough because it's not really, but it's getting better by todays standards. Just like to see that trickle down into the lineup and maybe give Miller and Horvat some courage to go there more often too, Pearson too. All are capable. And you can bet that if they did go there more often, that it's like adding extra cement into the batch, making stronger concrete footings, for the rest of the house. If EP and QHs are given a bit more space...and well anyone really, what would that do for our bottom line? And just for clarity, ive always preferred a tough team over one with a monster sitting on the bench for four minutes a game ready to "fight for the honour of the team". Enforcers and power forwards, plus a couple guys on each line willing to stand up for themselves etc ... that's the type of team i like. Edler vs Kane. Do you think he'd have even tried or got away with that without having to pay the piper later on a team from the 70's to mid 2000's? Not likely. McCarthy and Otto turtling Linden. They paid a price. Those years, let's just say hockey was different. And didn't have many guys who never stood up for themselves and all had a lot of teammates willing to stand up for each other. Murzyn ... good grief not a good fighter ... but everyone knew he'd go to war for his mates at a moments notice. And staked a claim on McLean's net space better then any D currently in the league now that Chara is retired. Each of these additions is a small step in the right direction. Didn't enjoy being CALI's b!tch for half a decade or so in the 2010's. Bieksa ... "A fun team to play against ".... ugh ... not a reputation i enjoyed. Not sure if this is coming from JR, Smyl or Allvin. But at least collectively they've realized this and have made steps to correct it. Joshua, Lazar, Stillman....baby steps, but a full step in the right direction. 3 5 2 1
Maginator
This move just feels right. No winning teams have $h!tcans like Dickinson in the lineup. JR and Alvin taking out the trash! I like this move. 1

NewbieCanuckFan
Just one more example of the fatal weakness of the Jim Benning management group. Complete failure to surround the solid core group Benning assembled with decent complementary parts. This skill is often underrated. Dickinson is just a worse version of Tim Schaller (remember that garbage player that Benning also acquired?). And of course, in seven years on the job, all Benning could do to find as head coach of the team was Willie Desjardins & Travis Green (that alone should be a fireable offense).
