I wonder how people wrap their presents so nicely, and I do a terrible job at wrapping. What’s their secret?

@Toews that's not that bad, I went to a white elephant exchange this weekend and (given the spots that I taped) the person who opened my gift was like "looks like someone ran out of wrapping paper lol" (in fact I did, I looped a sheet around the middle of the box and then had to wrap either side separately, then I taped the three pieces together lol)
-
@smithers joe that’s like my gifts too. I had to wrap gifts yesterday, and it was really hard! I was starting to get frustrated. The ends of the gifts came out different, the wrapping paper was loose and lopsided, but I put bows on them. The ones that you peel off and stick to the box.

I didn’t exactly lose them. They were folded up, but I forgot I had the Linden jersey and some other jerseys. I was thinking about one of the jerseys last night. It is signed by a player and it was a nice time getting that signed.
I was also trying on and organizing clothes while drinking champagne at 2am. Champagne is a great drink. I recommend it to everyone!

is it better to schedule a house call for a vet we have had for years or take her to a new vet down the street? The house call is $160..., and this vet we have had for years specializes in cats only. Kitty is also a one person cat, and only likes one person.
-
its a balance and one pet owners struggle with, quality service, continuity with one veterinarian, money and perceived value.
If it was me I would continue with the veterinarian I have, if money is the issue then I get it seems steep to absorb a $ 160 charge and I assume that is only the house call fee not the exam or other services. I would also point out that although it may be less stressful on you or kitty to have a house call done it can't be overlooked that while yes service can be provided there is generally better access to and ability with resources in the clinic vs taking a house call kit on the road.
House calls we tend to provide in my work experience mainly for euthanasia services, some examinations are ok but at the end of the day it is better for the pet, the veterinarian and team to have the patient in clinic with resources at your disposal.
The fee for housecalls may also again seem steep-ish but remember you are paying for a professional service either after hours which may involve calling in support staff or during business hours where time must be blocked off with the veterinarian leaving other obligations at the clinic and so on.
If it was me i'd stick with the vet I have a history with, assuming it is a positive one. If it is the money I can assure you the charge is the going rate and gets much higher in smaller towns so its not being unreasonable but understandably if you want to save the money or even put it towards anything you need to do with kitty re: diagnostics, treatments, prescriptions then you save.
-
That's great advice @Mike Vanderhoek. It's partially about the cost of the vet visit and the house call prices were increased, but this is my cat, and I love this cat very much. She's almost 15, and has had some health issues, and even though she does not like vet visits, we know this vet, and I think it is best for her, and this vet specializes in cats only.

Brilac has stocked up on the Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares! I don't know long they will last, but they are stocked!
-
Gosh my Halloween candy is almost gone.. But thank goodness for the Peppermint Bark squares!

Does anyone have some cheap or creative gift ideas for the Holiday's? For a toddler, a pre-teen, parents, and brother and sister-in-law?
-
Brilac is upting the bill at Purple! They read minds! It's desset now paired with wine. Appetizer was champagne. The course was champagne with a sandwich. And now the dessert is a peanut butter mousse with wine.

Gosh @6string my last tattoo was 15 years ago, so I don't. think I would be posting a post champagne new tattoo, but a little pink heart would look ideal. Well, it is time for Hot Yoga!
-

@NewbieCanuckFan Organic has no pesticides and it tastes better. The organic blue chips is made from organic ingredients. Non organic fruits and vegetables taste bland and are full of pesticides, and are dirty. I may be an occasionally bad eater, but I buy my fruits and vegetables organic, and if I can get other things organic such as chips at the same price as the non-organic or close, I will buy it organic.

@brilac drop crumpled up slips of paper with your phone number written in them... "and that kids is how I met your father" (to quote Anchorman, it works 60% of the time, every time)
@Heretic were you Psy getting confetti blown in your face? Or the guy laying down in the elevator? There's lots of roles to choose from
-
@brilac Please note I haven't researched the following link (just curious about the difference between the two) - I'm too old anyway at this point (damage I have done to my body is already done heh ):

Got caught in the rain the other day, and now I am sick. I just googled why people get sick after walking in the rain. Per the source, the rain lifts viruses and bacteria. My reaction sarcastically - that's nice... I'm going to stay home, have some ginger, double up on the leafy greens - kale with arugula, and whatever else is healthy, and hot water.

Layla the service dog has been found! This was so heartbreaking when hearing about this on the news last night! How can people do this! The owner was so heartbroken, and today she was found!

You know when you see little Cheeto crumbs on the keyboard and realize you maybe eat a lot of Cheetos! Cheetos are my thing! That, champagne, dessert, chocolate.
-
My cat is addicted to kitty treats! She just licked up all the residue from the freeze dried chicken treats after our "no more kitty treats" conversation. I've never had a cat who loves treats so much!
-
I slept in after 1pm, maybe I should get up and get the coffee rollin.'

I'm so into Math! I love how it all fits together! And finding the answer! And I used to be very artistic at one point! Like putting together and creating divine art!

I found out what "SSSS" means on my boarding pass... Is that permanent or a random secondary screening?

@Baer. to add to your point it definitely happens more frequently to people who are travelling alone and for pleasure rather than business.
-
@Baer. I bought my ticket through a 3rd party site instead of directly with the airline, and my trip was landing in Vancouver Friday evening and returning Saturday evening. I do travel alone. I enjoy doing things by myself, and taking nice adventures. Like going up to Vancouver for the Draft.
-
It's so nice to look at the Vancouver skyline at night. Kind of reminds me when I did my own 'Tourism at Night' once in Montreal. But I was drunk that evening in Montreal.

I love dessert!!!!!!!!! Like really love dessert!!!!!!!!!!
-
Enjoying the sunshineirre! It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow!
-
I love cheese! Cheese sticks, Pringles with cheese, cheese and crackers, Cheetos, cheese on a pizza, nachos. I really love cheese! Is cheese bad if you snack on it throughout the day?

That's great @NewbieCanuckFan !

That is art. You can put them together forming a design or pattern, have all the labels facing forward. Like wine bottles for example. Some have unique labels on them. So if you buy many bottles of wine, you can organize them, making a nice formation. Something like that. Art is art. Art is anything.
