  1. Need your help CDC... if my passport expires June 12th 2018, Can i travel to the US May 1st to 4th?

This link says you need 6 months extra until it expires, but then has Canada as the list of exempt countries? So I should be ok with Canadian passport?

Last summer I traveled to the US in mid-July with my passport expiring the first week of August. All they did was send me over to another desk to have it personally reviewed and handwritten in my passport when I intended to return to Canada. :)

Usually it will be up to some fool border guard to determine whether you can enter,if he or she has had a bad day ,who knows.

I have heard of people being refused flights because their passport was not up to date, over booking excuse mostly.Be careful down there.

    4. combover

      combover

I’ve heard of people being denied if it’s less than 4 months from expiration date.

Like others have said your kinda putting your fate in some ones else’s hands if the say no it’s no.

  2. Dream Scenario: February 14th 2019

The Vancouver Canucks sit with 70 points and in a major battle for top 2 in the Pacific Division

Elias and new additions have merged well.

BOOM Sedins come out of retirement, long story short, we win the cup in 2019 with Sedins, Elias, Bo, etc

    1. ReggieBush

      ReggieBush

      Wouldn't that be special?

  3. I know we're at the bottom of the league, but when it's all said and done, there's no other team I'd want to be cheering for right now.

    ....

Actually come to think of it... I wouldn't mind being a Jets fan right now. I absolutely hate big buff but there's so many other guys on that team I like. Paul Maurice is a super likable character too. The old boys club is just as against the Jets as they are to us. Jets will need to pull some magic but they can win the cup. Love that they're a Canadian team.

    GO JETS GO!?

My wife is a die hard Jets fan and they've put together a really exciting season. I will definitely be cheering for them during the playoffs.

I actually don't think much of the Jets as I kind of always like having our AHL affiliate there to be honest.

  4. I know this is wishful thinking but I don't think it's too outlandish to think that the Holm / Leipisic trade will be regretted by McPhee as much as he regretted the Erat / Forsberg trade.

Really looking forward to seeing him play the rest of the year.

I think acquiring players in their early 20s is just as good as draft picks. Kudos to Mr Jim Freakin Benning. He's %100 got my support... which wasn't the case all 2017.

    Long Live Lord Benning!

Bring home a cup and you can go down as the greatest GM in franchise history. For the time though, I think that title belongs to Mike Gillis.

If the Leipsic - Horvat - Boeser line fits we have potential to have a crazy top 2 lines

      Leipsic - Horvat - Boeser

      Tkachuk/Zadina/Dahlen - Pettersson - Lind

    3. King Heffy

      King Heffy

Gadjovich-Gaudette-Virt would be a nightmare of a 3rd line too.

    4. coastal.view

      coastal.view

boeser definitely has to play with the best set up man on the team

i think that will be pertersson .. so he has to play on that line

      no disrespect to bo

but bo's vision and distribution skills still need seasoning

  5. Bring back 1998 Vancouver real estate prices :gocan:

Guaranteed we'll wind up here again. May's well go 1948!

  6. Is it just me or is Brock Boeser the 2nd best player to come out of the 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 drafts combined? Second to McDavid

Heck you can even go back to 2013, Mackinonn wasn't even half the player Brock is at 20 years old.

    Thanks JB

    2. Baer.

      Baer.

McDavid, Matthews and Eichel are probably the only players in the past few drafts I would take over Boeser. Maybe Draisaitl... The only reasons I say is cause they play center. Also Boeser > Laine

    3. coastal.view

      coastal.view

i really think a baseball approach needs to be take initially to assessing nhl players

some start out very nicely ala brock

then the league adjusts and they look less nice

some of the better players adjust and again establish their very nice look

some do not do as well after their initial burst

brock has some 50 games under his belt

his goal scoring has slowed noticeably

let's revisit this at season's end

or perhaps next year at this time

i mean .. look at bo last year

very fine start to his season

      very unproductive finish

the better teams get serious in the 2nd half

and key on all the better players

    4. Alflives

      Alflives

I’m on board with @Baer.  I’d take Matthews and McDavid then Brock would be really close with Eichel.  It depends on salary too.  McDavid’s Cap hit lowers (to me) his value to a team’s potential to win.  Eichel at 10 mil is a lot.  If Matthews comes in at McDavid numbers that’s a negative for him too.  We will see where Brock comes in dollar wise.  Paying too much for one guy, can really damage a team’s winning.

  7. The Ayatollah of Brock `n Rolla
It's been all Brock 'n Roll on CDC the past few days...

This would be complete if @Toni Zamboni did a gif with Brock incorporated in it
(TZ is widely referred to as the single, greatest gif maker of all time)

On a side note... anyone have the one he did with Cory and Lui walking out of town as it exploded behind them?

  8. I think I'm getting slightly ahead of myself... but is it possible we rename Griffiths Way to Boeser's Way if Brock retires as a Canuck?

Man... I love me some Brock. I really hope he's a Canuck for life. Something tells me the Old Boys Club will meddle though before we re-sign him and make sure he ends up on a US team. I wouldn't mind a Lindros type of deal though... which Colorado ultimately benefited from.

Below is what Lindros got traded for...

    Spoiler

1992-Jun-30 Traded from Quebec Nordiques to Philadelphia Flyers for Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall, Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, future considerations, round 1 pick in the 1993 draft, round 1 pick in the 1994 draft and cash

I think Brock has similar value... I'd do Crisby, Schultz, Sprong, Murray, Rust, 1st from Crapsburgh

    or Toews (2.5 million retained), HInostroza, DeBincrat, Forsling, Crawford, + 2018 1st + 2019 1st from Chicago

    What does CDC think?

A bit outta left field, Apollo...

      So I'll counter in absurdity-

Let Aqua sell the land but only if he builds one of those Supersonic train lines from Vancouver to the Canucks brand new 26000 seat arena in Victoria, which he will pay to build. The train line will be named "Griffiths Line". We'll call the arena the Aqua Centre, because why the hell not.

Boeser stays a Canuck but we trade Virtanen for 3 first round picks, 2400 hotdogs and a 450 hectolitres of Lucky Lager.

    3. Green Building

      Green Building

Hit me up with 2 of those hotdogs, stat.

  9. What do you guys think will end up being the more iconic event in

    Return of the Jedi

    or

    Return of Roy Baby

**FYI If you haven't heard... the man... the myth... the legend... Roy Baby AKA Derek Roy has made team Canada for the Olympics. Crosby on the other hand didn't... so you know what that means. He's probably better than him.

***Further FYI Roy Baby is probably the subjects of one of the top 5 threads of all time (CDC). If anyone can dig it up for some old time laughs, I'd love you long time. I've done a search and can't find it.

I'm pretty sure Ewoks are tougher and can play better than Roy.

  10. Connor McDavid has lost 5-10 LBS from an Illness known as Brockitis.
    http://www.tsn.ca/mcdavid-has-lost-5-10-lbs-due-to-illness-1.924075

Brockitis is an inflammation of the lining of your sense of fear tubes, caused by watching Brock Boeser as an opposition. This menace carry's pucks on the ice and from your lungs... he then mercilessly blasts them into oppositions nets. People who have brockitis often cough up thickened mucus, which can be discolored. This a direct cause of witnessing the sheer dominance displayed by The Ayatollah of Brock 'N Rolla. Brockitis may be either acute or chronic. Brockitis will cause most victims severe illness and weight loss ranging from 5-30 LBS.

  11. Feeling kinda down this Friday morning... can someone tell me a good feel story? :bigblush:

  12. Bo is gonna hit 70ish points this year.

@Aladeen Hahaha love it! Cup! CUP! CUP!!!

I just want Vanek to be in that 30ish goal category so Benning can flip him for a 1st round pick at the trade deadline.

  13. The nhl is a corrupt garbage league. Zero integrity, biased officiating... Straight up disgusting.

Apollo, you're the parent whose kids can do no wrong. You have demonstrated a pattern of irrationality in the last few years and have gone to enormous lengths to blindly defended certain players/ the team as a whole on numerous occasions. It's impossible to take you seriously. It's great you're an optimist and loyal fan, but when you post tired and outlandish statements constantly (such as the one you started with here) you're going to get called out from time to time. I will always stand by the canucks win or lose, but we haven't been that likable a team this year. Our PP has been dreadful since the 2011 playoffs, and no coach/player seems to have done anything to fix it. We still come at teams with the same 'all eggs in one basket' strategy. Our problems aren't the refs, our problems have been the same as they've always been. Not scoring more goals than we let in. Choking under pressure...etc
