canucklehead44
Kesler for Schenn, Morin/Hagg, and a 1st would be ok. I prefer it more than Sutter, Despres, and a 1st from Pittsburgh by a long shot. That would give us a good 2nd line player for next season who is 7 years younger than Kesler and on a cheaper salary. Hagg/Morin are good defensive prospects. The Philly pick would also be about 10 spots higher which makes a big difference in the first round. I don't mind Despres but Sutter isn't exactly young at 25 and his offensive game has declined. Not much upside in that trade, Schenn has infinitely more.
Down by the River
Doubt they have 10mil cap to spare, but that would be great if they did! They could afford it with both Letang and Martin on LTIR.
Ilya Mikheyev
Kesler for Bennett, Sutter, Pouliot, 1st 2015 That seems a fair deal...
Angry Goose
if philly is crazy enough to offer two top 6 guys in schenn and simmonds for kesler and maybe something else like hansen. MG better agree and make the deal. either one of them coming back in a package is far better than any pittsburgh offer Of course it all comes down to what actually happens, but I just don't see PHI offering 2 young roster players. I would LOVE for Schenn & Simmonds to play in VAN, boyoboy would that be an exciting team to watch but doubt it happens. I think even if a Matt Read were added to the deal instead of Simmonds the Canucks would have to include something on top of Kesler.
theminister
Oh god that would be a dream trade haha Kill twos birds with one stone, as they say. Doubt they have 10mil cap to spare, but that would be great if they did! $9.25 mil If they utilize all of their LTIR space and minus Sutter and Bennet then I think they may be able to though I haven't crunched the numbers. But... Dupuis $3.75 Letang $3.50 Martin $5.00 Sutter $2.067 Bennett $0.895 I think if it could happen then people might have to stop criticizing MG. Well…. wishing thinking, maybe. oldnews
What D man do we have that resembles this description of Pouliot? Talent Analysis Pouliot is an exceptionally mobile offensive defenseman with elite vision and puck-distribution. He has a blistering shot from the point, can transition the puck with his head up, and can play a lot of minutes in all situations. He is not a physically imposing presence on the ice, but is extremely strong and not shy from battling for the puck in corners. He possesses a strong, wide base and is difficult to knock off the puck. He is also an explosive skater who is able to quickly rush the puck up ice. You are focusing on the wrong things Surfer. He's 'small', his ability to handle the forwards in the west will be questionable, etc. We want Maata. If we have to 'settle' for Pouliot, they'll have to throw in an extra 1st. We underplay this guy for now. We rave about him once he's in the deal. Right? Sutter, Pouliot, a 1st, and DuMoulin. Kesler Jensen 2nd Johansen The player would anchor our top line for decades. That's great stuff. What is a thread without a Merci giveaway? This is what Toronto deserves. The NHL Files @TheNHLFiles 4m According to reports, Vancouver's price to Toronto for Kesler is Gardiner or Reilly, Kadri, and a 1st. Hardy har - they were chirping about Kadri and Gardiner being too much - wanting to sub one of their B prospects for Gardiner...now they're getting slightly realistic, but there's not a chance in hell that Kesler wants to go to Onterrible. Suck it Leafs.
oldnews
You know, the more I think about it, if Pittsburgh requires us to send another player over to make up for Bennett, and insist we take Sutter, we should try and make them take Booth. With Letang, Dupuis and Martin on IR they might be able to make the money work. They also haven't used a compliance buyout. For all Booth's faults he could be a useful depth guy for them in a playoff run. They took Jokinen last year when no one else would. I mean, if they're pushing hard... Kesler, Booth For Sutter, Bennett, Pouliot, 1st 2015 Boom. Genius. Alternatively, Booth for Umberger as an aside in a Columbus deal.

Ilya Mikheyev
It'd be perfect if the Pens would do a Luongo for Fleury swap so we could end all the goalie drama. Luongo, Kesler for Bennett, Sutter, Pouliot, Fleury, 1st 2015 if Pens make it to the CF or higher, 2014 if they lose in the first two rounds. brownky
Would anyone here take Lucic + prospect(S) for Kesler if Boston offered? I wouldn't. He wouldn't be able to play the same game he does in Boston; the refs would be on him like flies on poo out here, while Boston can get away with it a lot more. I want Malkin. That's who I want. He's expensive, but he's elite.
