Honky Cat
The reality here is JB wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't interviewing experienced ex NHL coaches for the vacant job. There is no chance he hires Crow. It's the same as Torts. Willie D. or John Stevens will be the next head coach and I hope it's Willie... Crawford is the same as Torts how so?..Certainly not coaching style.
Cupless44
Not sure why some are so down on the second winningest coach in Canuck history. I like Crow. Good coach who is evolving and who loves coaching enough to go overseas, adapt to another league and win a championship. Can't see him being hired with the lawsuit hanging over the club though. This team needs good PR right now.
Primal Optimist
I would hands down love to see Crow coach the boys again. I liked our product with him guiding the plays and pairings.
Crabcakes
MacIntyre said that he had heard that Sutter will step down after the Kings win the cup. Stevens will be the Kings new head coach. Leaves Nucks Willie D or Crow to chose from.
Crabcakes
re: Crow and the alleged revenge order on Moore. Linden was in the room. He knows what was said. He's not worried if he's interviewing Crawford now.
NotaSmartMan
Wouldn't you want Benning to explore all possible options? I think its pretty good that hes doing rounds with many different candidates.
CanuckGAME
Cant believe so many people are against Crow. He is a great coach,I would love to have him back. He brought me my favorite years of being a canucks fan. Even though we never made it past the 2nd round, I believe his heart and soul is in vancouver and he would give it his all. Ghostsof1915
He'd be fantastic as an assistant. Head Coach...sort of undecided on that one. Now Head Coach of the Vancouver Giants? Now you're talking! Crawford has one advantage over Torts. He does understand systems. The fact that Crawford went to Switzerland and won in the Swiss league last year shows he still has fire and drive. If you're looking at defensive style hockey, that's not his game. That's why he didn't work out in Dallas and LA. If you're looking at up-tempo hockey, that he can work with. But I'm leaning towards Dat Stache.

And yes, we all know that Crawford is just dying to exit the pros and coach in the juniors.

MadOgre
I don't ever remember the Canucks getting rolled over as bunch of woossies under Crow. In fact the first time the Canucks ever won 10 games in a row was under Crow. I remember countless times being amazed at watching the Canucks hammer the other team in the offensive zone for minutes at a time. They always would keep it in at the point and just keep hammering away. It was AWESOME to watch. Crow did not have a top notch team to work with. IMO he over achieved with what he had. 1 excellent top line( credit to Crow ) and a few solid defensemen is not a top notch team. Nobody wins with a melt down goalie, NOBODY. Even with a meltdown goalie we still never got blown out of games. We were always takin it to the other team and then Cloutier would get scared of the puck and let it the other team score a goal they didn't actually deserve or work for. It was the biggest Joke ive ever seen. Canucks would have taken out Detroit in the playoffs if Cloutier didn't have a complete mental breakdown! What was Cloutier like the 20th goalie in 3 years LOL. Crow has a lot to bring to our current and upcoming squads. He coaches exactly the same as our managements vision for our team. I would love to see a combination of Willie D and Crow in either order. Moore was being a pansy about the whole thing. If he actually man'd up he wouldn't have got his kneck broken. Im pretty sure Crow did not tell Bert to go brake his kneck! freak. Like crabcakes mentioned if Linden were to stand up and say Hey I was there and Crow is not at fault, I don't think it would be much of an issue except for Botchford maybe LOL but who cares what he says. I don't know of anybody who actually cares what that guy has to say.
kacvan
I'd love the see the return of Crow! He is not afraid to use rookies. Yes he can be a hot head at times but I believe that he is a good coach.
MadOgre
The only guys still on the team from that Moore incident are the Sedins and Bieksa I think. So not much of an issue with recycling coaches. I think guys like Kassian and Booth would absolutely thrive under a guy like Crow as well as all our up and comers. Not to mention that a guy like Crow is exactly what the Sedins need again. And Crow knows how to involve the defence as well as anybody does. Hes the guy that taught Quenville how to do it. I think if you complimented Crow with a well rounded guy Like Willie D or a defensive specialist like J Stevens or used one of those guys as your head coach with Crow as your offensive/powerplay assistant coach and then throw Gulutzan in to the mix, you would have a pretty formidable coaching staff. Not to mention having Rolly Melanson as well ! I would love to have Joe Quenville as our coach( credit to Crow again! ) I think a guy like Crow would help bring back some of that swagger that Trevor wants. higgyfan
I like Crawford a lot, but I'd rather see him as a commentator than have him coaching the Nucks again. Other than winning the cup 18 years ago (with an incredible team) , his record is quite awful. In 15 seasons as an NHL coach, his teams did not make the playoffs 7 times and lost in the 1st round 5 times. Sorry, but 12/15 misses and near misses is pretty poor. There's a reason he hasn't been an NHL coach since 10/11. Canucks need a fresh start; not a retread.
puckdontlie
I think there are things he can bring to the team this time that he did not offer in his last tenure as coach. He seems to recognize the importance of learning, improving, and reflecting as a coach. In the articles above, I omitted (for the sake of length) some information about the constant learning process he attributes to coaching: Three years later, Gary Mason asked him the same question. He is a slow learner. I read articles about Crawford saying he is slowly embracing video analysis. Video analysis should not only be embraced but mastered and here is a guy slowly embracing it... what an epic fail. hockeyville88
If Marc Crawford returns, I'll actually be quite pleased and intrigued. Several great players developed under his tutelage, resulting in the exciting West Coast Express era. The greatest problem with that team was goaltending -- Brian Burke is at fault for that. The team is about to undergo another youth movement. When Crawford took over in 1999, he transformed the team and turned the young players into a tremendous squad. Here he is with Jim Benning. Someone get him some better foot wear. Those are hideous!
