Odd.
Quote The leadership of Max Pacioretty still in doubt. I was beginning to annoy me by Michel Villeneuve and here's why it's one of my favorite sports journalists. He loves issuing controversial statements. This morning in his column in the FM radio 106.9 Michel Villeneuve told a story about Michel Therrien. This summer, the coach of the Canadiens participated in a golf tournament. After the round, while Therrien was sitting at a table, Michel Therrien said Max Pacioretty was the worst captain in the history of the Montreal Canadiens. Ouch! It's hard to believe such a story, but it is true that this is not the first time the CH coach is caught in a visit by a journalist who has a fine ear. Remember the time when Michel Therrien said the CH was never going to win Stanley Cup with PK Subban within the organization. This comment is found in the media. In this case, the Villeneuve story will be impossible to prove the absence of video or audio support, but what I'd really like to see is Villeneuve attempt to confirm his info face to face with Therrien. For Pacioretty, which is not bad brew at the start of the World Cup, we just hope that this story will not come to his ears. The original Villeneuve extract is available by the end of the 5th minute . Villeneuve even added fuel to the fire by advancing it believes Pacioretty had depression. http://25stanley.com/max-pacioretty-serait-le-pire-capitaine-de-lhistoire-des-canadiens/ Translated above so it isn't proper grammar. Another article: Quote Is Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty the worst captain in the history of the organization? According to a report from 106.9 FM radio host Michel Villeneuve that's exactly what head coach Michel Therrien thinks of his current captain, a truly damning statement when it comes from the mouth of your own head coach. According to Villeneuve, Therrien made the shocking comments at his charity golf tournament, an event that came right off the heels of a catastrophic season for both Therrien personally as well as the entire Canadiens organization. Villeneuve claims that while Therrien believed himself to be away from prying eyes, he was overheard openly criticizing Pacioretty to those around him. It's a bold claim from Villeneuve but when you consider how poorly the season unfolded and how poorly it reflected on that locker room as well as Therrien's infamous temperament, it's not impossible to imagine him saying that, albeit off the record. One has to wonder if he truly feels this way, how long Pacioretty will be wearing the "C" for Montreal. http://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/rumor-nhl-coach-calls-his-captain-the-worst-in-the-team-s-history?ref=jo Basically the Habs radio host heard Therrien at a golf course mentioning that Pats was the worst captain in history. I mean I don't know how true this is, but if it is true that's pretty low on Therrien's part and not the first time he's said something like this before. He's also in the past expressed his criticism of his players publicly and personally I don't like it when coaches do that. It brings unnecessary attention, it hurts the morale of the player and team. I doubt anyone would want to be criticized publicly by their own boss and Therrien has done it a lot. Habs management are a bunch of bitches anyway (Bergevin)
ItsMillerTime
I don't understand why they keep him. P.K. Subban or some crappy coach who could be replaced easily. I get that they like french speaking guys in Montreal but they need people who can get along and know hockey well.
Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
I hate Michel Therrien. He seems like such a toxic coach and such a toxic individual for that organization. Without comparing Vancouver to them, the Canadiens are a corrupt club.

HerrDrFunk
Christ, the only thing I figure for Therrien having a job still is that he has some deep, dark s**t he's holding over Bergevin's head.
Nuxfanabroad
Prob want to make this Weber's team. Half-expecting Pacc to get traded to a US market like Arizona, for young fwds. At 4.5 cap-hit, he's quite a bargain. Is Therrien doing Bergevin's dirty work? Have to start wondering..this team's a mess, wouldn't surprise me if they sink like a stone. CanuckGAME
This is a non story. Some dick overheard a private conversation supposedly, and then reported it. Anyone can make up some BS like this. It's rediculous. And come the **** on. Patches is an amazing player. A great goal scorer. But look at the names posted above. Even Max knows he's the worst captain in Habs history. But that's just it. Max is in the process of writing his own history. He's not done, he's only just getting started. oldnews
Don't care for Therrien, but this isn't validly sourced material. It's wreaks of Botchford 'quality' journalism. Uh, 'I overheard something at a golf tournament.....' Unless Therien makes that statement on the record to someone with intent - it's just hearsay that is pointless and worthless mud raking. And who it actually harms is Pacioretty - right on the heels of Tortorella ripping him at a meaningless all-star gong-show misappropriately named the "World Cup" of hockey. I'm gonna go ahead and file this one under "nothing to see here".
luckylager
Is he wrong though? I don't like Therien, but I don't think he's wrong. Look at the disaster the Habs were after losing Price last year, Patches failed to lead his team. Dude sucks ass in the playoffs and hates Canada. Coach T is just telling the truth. Yes, the players chose Patches as their captain, but he sucked at it. He couldn't bring them together in the dressing room or on the ice when their best player went down. Yes, losing your All Star goalie is going to hurt, but going from first in the league @ 20-0-1 (or whatever) to 22nd out of 30 by seasons end... guy's a dud captain. Has anyone ever tried naming the keeper captain?....!?
