elvis15
Not a surprise, he hadn't been noticeable really like he'd wanted to make sure he secured that spot. Hopefully he clears and can be of use in Utica.

Odd.
I'm thinking he gets picked up? Hopefully not, would be useful in Utica.
Apple Juice
Hope this is one of those times where Benning jumps ahead of the waiver wire and no team will pick him up because they're still unsure of their own rosters yet. Grenier will definitely be back if he makes it to Utica.
elvis15
That's the hope, to slide him by early. Couple that with a pretty marginal camp and he might get by.
HC20.0
Not surprised at all. Effective AHLer, but can't see him ever translating to the NHL.

His max potential is 4th liner in the NHL with the way he's been used by us the past couple of years.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
He needs a change of scenary...too apathetic in his play here. A new place might reignite his passion. Someone will take a chance on a big guy like him.
Darius
If he hasnt been able to crack a relatively small and low scoring forward roster for the past couple years I dont know if he ever will. A friendly giant, a poor man's Shawn Matthias at best.

Teams have their own " marginal camp performing " players to make these decisions on. He will not get picked up.
stonecoldstevebernier
This was the worst time for Grenier's inconsistency to strike. He's been a streaky player in Utica and he looked like he was on one of his cold streak's in camp, not very noticeable at all. I'm sure he'll go down there and get another solid ~45 point season but the time is ticking for him. Good camps from Gaunce, Zalewski, Labate, even Carcone are pushing him down the depth chart so he'll need a great year to earn a call-up at some point. He's probably done with the Canucks after this year - he will be a UFA at the end of the season as it's unlikely he'll have 80 NHL games by then. VIC_CITY
I like this move. No way he gets claimed. Better options available on PTOs. He'll be useful in Utica.
Gaudette Celly
Labate has already passed him after just one year of pro. He's undoubtedly been told countless times what he needs to do to make it to the next level, but is either unwilling or unable to do so.
