They were really the kind of guys to take new kids under their wing, but I guess they really completely disconnected from the team in retirement (which is understandable). I think they're trying to be respectful and allow the team to build/establish their own, new identity. Didn't see much of the ASG as I'm at a hockey tournament with my son, how did EP40 do? Thing is, they have kids and have had to miss a lot of milestones, etc. so I'm sure the focus is fully on family right now. Once you dabble back into hockey, it cuts into that. At least momentarily, I'm sure they're enjoying some well deserved moments. Also, what Vicky said...they're trying to allow for a new identity and a little selfless in that. Time to step away and let the "new" team emerge. They're just that way... Juice gets that...he's recently made comments about how any decision for the future he makes will be based on family first. That he isn't willing to commit to time away from home for roles that are secondary or taking time away that could be better well spent. I love that he's still interested in our (his??) team. He has made comments about coming "home" here one day in some capacity...sure hope it comes true. He is a class act, through and through.
