Popular Post Sygvard
You goobers. He is asking you to take our top 6 D. Then place them in order according to their offensive skills, then defensive skills. 5
YesWeCanNux
5 minutes ago, 48MPHSlapShot said: Probably a 3 in both regards. Edler can be a beast offensively, and he showed that he's still got it last season. Hughes is an absolute dynamo and Myers can contribute strong offensive numbers as well. That said, Edler is pretty injury prone and Hughes is still a rookie. Defensively, Tanev and Stetcher are both strong. I've been hearing good things about Benn's defensive game as well, and Edler can at the very least hold his own. However, Myers can be a bit of a question mark, and Hughes will likely give up some chances doing his thing. And again, both Edler and Tanev are pretty injury prone as well. So yeah, 3/5 in both categories seems pretty reasonable to me. Ya...that wasn’t explained well. I meant vs each other. Example: Offensive rank 1- Hughes 2- Myers 3- Edler 4- Stetcher 5- Benn 6- Tanev Defensive rank 1- Tanev 2- Edler 3- Benn 4- Myers 5- Stetcher 6- Hughes I might tweak a bit personally but off the top of my head there’s an example to keep the conversation going. Ahh, I see. In that case... Offensive rank 1- Edler 2- Hughes 3- Myers 4- Benn 5- Stetcher 6- Tanev Defensive rank 1- Tanev 2- Benn 3- Stetcher 4- Edler 5- Hughes 6- Myers
BlueDragon23
Okay I understand, got a bit confused. This could all change by the end of the year, but as of now.... Offensive: 1. Edler 2. Hughes 3. Myers 4. Benn 5. Stecher 6. Tanev Defensive 1. Tanev 2. Edler 3. Stecher 4. Benn 5. Myers 6. Hughes

ButterBean
Offensive: 1- Hughes 2- Myers 3- Edler 4- Benn 5- Stetcher 6- Tanev Defensive: 1- Tanev 2- Stetcher 3- Edler 4- Myers 5- Benn 6- Hughes I haven’t seen Benn play enough to give an accurate evaluation. Hughes I only put last because of his inexperience but he was pretty good defensively in the small sample size we saw.
kloubek
I'm including potential with my ratings. Offensive: 1. Hughes (By far) 2. Edler 3. Myers 4. Stecher 5. Benn 6. Tanev I believe Stecher will surpass current Myers in offensive talent at some point. For my defensive rank, I focused on defensive ability as opposed to highly factoring size and what that brings in itself. Defensive 1. Tanev 2. Benn 3. Stecher 4. Edler 5. Myers 6. Hughes I think Stecher may be the better defensive player over Benn, but he just doesn't have the size and that means a lot as a defenseman so I couldn't help but put Benn higher on account that aspect SO much in Benn's favor.

-AJ-
This is only using the top 6. Other defensemen would be higher than these six if I were to include all our depth. Offensive rank 1- Edler 2- Hughes 3- Myers 4-Stecher 5-Benn 6-Tanev Defensive rank 1-Edler 2-Tanev 3-Benn 4-Stecher 5-Hughes 6-Myers EDIT: Because I find it interesting, I'll do the top 7 in rank to include others as well: Offensive rank 1- Edler 2- Hughes 3- Myers 4- Biega - Biega had very strong offensive numbers last year. Check them out if you don't believe me. 5-Stecher 6-Benn 7-Tanev Defensive rank 1-Edler 2-Tanev 3-Benn 4-Stecher 5- Sautner - Sautner plays a very boring game, but I think his defense is strong enough that he's the top candidate to earn a permanent spot of the four defensemen who had trials last year (Sautner, Brisebois, Rafferty, & Teves) 6-Hughes 7-Myers
canucklehead44
Offensive: 1- Hughes 2- Edler 3- Myers 4- Stecher 5- Benn 6- Tanev Defensive: 1- Stecher 2- Tanev 3- Edler (although Edler was better last year) 4- Benn 5- Myers 6- Hughes Physicality: 1- Benn 2- Myers 3- Edler 4- Stecher 5- Tanev 6- Hughes

He said I'll like Benn as a bottom pairing guy. Capable stay at home D, physical. But gets killed by speedy players.
Topcheeze86
Offensive rank 1-Hughes (offense first mentality) 2-Myers (surprisingly more offensively minded with his size) 3-Edler (keeps it simple puts pucks at the net) 4-Stetcher (good at finding shooting lanes for tips) 5-Tanev (more defensively minded) 6-Benn (more defensively minded) Defensive rank 1-Edler (logs big minutes against top lines) 2-Tanev (great shot blocking and pk) 3-Stecher (plays tough downlow) 4-Benn (steady defendively) 5-Myers (long reach but takes chances) 6-Hughes (small and unseasoned to the nhl defensively) #2cents 1

Which actually leaves their ranking worse....
