His skating allows him to do that. Unless he gets elite at either of those two skills he won't be in NHL long. Plenty players can fill that role.

The extent of his offensive game is rushing up the wing and either losing it on the boards, or in the far corner.

 

He is basically Mason Raymond, at least offensively.

Jake said it himself he's been working on puck protection etc.  He knows he needs to keep adding tools to his tool belt to a more offensive player overall.  We all know he can play off the rush but just needs to keep working at his offensive game.  Id like to see him slide into areas to get that shot of his offf more

I like Leivo as a guy that can move up in the lineup, but they have a number of those, and strictly as a 4th line / hard minutes / shutdown / physical forward, it'll probably be hard for him to hold of the charging MacEwen.  Love Zack and nice to see him continue to rise.

Yup he has good IQ he's not a flashy forward though and his draft position has jaded some fans.
