1 day off after a hard fought series, while Vegas had 4 days off. These guys aren’t machines, fatigue definitely was in play here. Hats off to Roussel for trying to spark the team.

Can’t wait for game 2!

Lost puck battles, bobbled pucks, weak clearing attempts...the signs of fatigue were all there. It reminded me of game 4 of the St. Louis series. It was the second of back to back games. Our boys were pounded relentlessly and we lost 2 in a row to tie up the series. People here wrote off our team then...just like some are doing now after one game. The Nux had a day's rest, regrouped, and found some renewed energy to beat the Blues big in game 5.

We had 1 day off after an emotional, exhausting series with the Blues. On that 1 day we had to change hotels. I doubt there was time to prepare for the GKs who had 4 days to rest and prepare. That obviously made a difference in game 1.

The schedule is ridiculous. The winner of our first round series should've had AT LEAST 2 days off before starting the next round. Vegas, the league's golden child was handed an unfair advantage against 'a team like that'.

I have faith that the Nux will bounce back next game. They've shown all season into the playoffs that they are a team of character and effort. And as I said to those of you who lost faith after we got behind 3-1 to the Blues in game 5... you should be ashamed of yourselves if you're conceding this series after one game. This series is far from over.

Vegas wanted the puck a lot more than us last night and the outcome showed.  We can deal with their relentless puck pressure but it will require all of our players providing a lot more puck support.  They are sending multiple guys to pucks, we can counter with some simple outlets.  Good game by Vegas last night Now it’s up to us to learn from the game.

Sucked in game one vs Mini and adjusted.

Looked like they were a young team on a short turnover time that emotionally was in the last series.

They will adjust.

WOuld be good to get Myers back or even put Olli in, his puck moving might get ahead of the Vegas forecheck.

Yes, schedule is ridiculous and absurd. NHL helping its golden child without any shame.

Rough night for bad bounces. The puck luck was with Vegas last night, lots of bounces their way. Whenever we seemed to get an opportunity the puck wouldnt settle for us. We also had no time to prepare for Vegas, they had a few days to rest and come up with a system for this series. The boys will be ready for game 2, just need to adjust to the speed of Vegas, compared to STL and MIN. Roussel, Gaudette, Virtanen and Motte were engaged and played hard last night. Virtanen was showing more confidence driving to the net.

Green has proven to be good at strategizing after a big ugly loss. Hopefully he can do it again.

His green helmet sure shows when we're up against new opponents. Seems like it takes him a game to figure out how to attack an opponent while they already have a book on us.

Vegas should hope he does not wake up in this series. Its hilarious that Vegas is doing the exact same thing and playing the same way has the 2011 Canucks yet the 2011 Canucks were the most hated team in NHL by the media and fans. Ron McLean literally is having a field day with Reeves yet burrows played the same way and had more points

Reaves and Burrows have minimal similarities. Reaves can only hit, if you pay him no mind, he will have little to no impact on the series.

Can someone explain why Canucks played yesterday?  Isn’t today suppose to be game 1?  They went to game 6, so weren’t they supppse to have a day off.  If they swept the blues, for example, then they should’ve had 3 days off and so on....

They played Friday, had Saturday off, game 1 on Sunday

Right.   If Friday was game 7.  They have no extra days off.    If Friday was game 5 and finished the series 4-1, then they would be off, sat, sun, and start Monday.

not sure if I’m making any sense

Hopefully this is like '03 where the Canucks looked terrible vs the St Louis Blues in first game and lost 6-0 . They came back and won the series.

Im highly concerned about our smallish relatively soft D that has some guys playing more minutes than they should due to injuries etc.  Edler/Tanev/Hughes have to be at their very best to pickup the slack and last night they all probably had their worst game of the playoffs.
