The schedule did f*ck us up. 2 back-to-backs and 5 games with only 2 days off is unheard of. If the NHL really did support the players on the BLM movement, then they should have rescheduled the games to give the players proper rest. NHL is run by $hitty people. the players have been pushing for a condensed schedule so they can leave the bubble asap
-Vintage Canuck-
"I think there's a lot to be proud of. The guys that were experiencing this for the first time, they showed a lot. To get a taste of being in the playoffs again, to see the energy the young guys brought to our team, it was awesome. Proud of the way we played." - Sutter

If that is their tactic, then bring the puck down low and get that garbage goal. They know we only play Hughes up high and he is the qb when we have possession the take away his shot and cut off his 2 passing lanes we didn’t pressure Theodore and they are smart enough to actually shoot on their pp
Popular Post Tortorella's Rant
1 minute ago, khay said: Today's PP was really pathetic. Vegas had 4 guys on the boards at one point, if we win that one puck battle, get the puck out to an open guy, we would have scored. We didn't win any puck battle that mattered. We were timid today. Honestly, I think we beat ourselves today. Mental fatigue. Physical fatigue. You could see it especially when we would struggle with board battles, clearing the puck, making passes, doing the basics of hockey. We were beat on most puck battles and races to the puck. This game we couldn't do anything right. We couldn't even get 5 pucks to the net 30 minutes in. We went through war with the Blues right into this series with one day off, no rest, while Vegas had four or five days rest and then the league had us cram 5 games in 7 nights and 6 in 9 if we managed to by some miracle win. If we did win, I absolutely believe this dismal form of hockey would carry over to the series against the Stars. Vegas is the better team but they shouldn't have owned us like this. It's shameful the league allowed no rest. We were punished for starting a day after the Vegas/Hawks series and having to go an extra game. 2

It sucks to let Marky go, but it needs to be done. There will be some decent cheap backups available. Toffoli might not be necessary. If we need to decide between the two, Boeser clearly stays. The bottom 6 needs a hard look. They contributed little offensively beyond one great game; the value is not there. We should add some youth and scoring. I hate Vegas but the team is built well with 4 lines that contribute. The days of meat and potatoes are over. Get something for Jake if we can. Both sides need a fresh start. Thanks. Agree on all fronts! Had I said this on here I’d be roasted, hard. Glad you said it.
canucksnihilist
Quit complaining haha! the team needs to learn that they need to play every playoff game with desperation. They haven’t learned that yet - but they will. It will take a while for them to reflect on the way the blues and then the knights were playing... especially the knights obviously. the Canucks weren’t playing like it was overtime the whole game - but the knights were. young team. Learning experience. This group can do a lot better and they should in the next few years. The support group for the stars will get better too - there are some slower players that have large contracts.... which is why the team wasn’t supposed to do anything yet! But the stars are so good they overcame it!

He recognised he overpaid some bittom 6 players but said when the kids hit their prime in a couple of years they will play solid two way hockey, winning hockey and not just chase scoring points. Teams that play solid 2 way hockey win Cups. Teams like Leafs go out in 1st rounds. You do know 2-way hockey includes the offensive side right? We played through three tough round of hockey while this is like the first round for Vegas with how easy chicago went down. that maybe true but we did not play our game at all this series. we are a fast team as well, we showed against the Blues but for some reason our game plan was to slow it down against Vegas. our forecheck was one and done no speed no pressure, thats because they were worried about the counter attack. The fact they even managed 4 goals last night is absolutely remarkable. Y. 5 gms in 7 days vs a deeper better team. They did all they can. No shame in trying. All this complaint on effort by some is nonsense. The were simply out of gas. Could have used a day to recover. But it is what it is. What a playoff to remember. First in several yrs. Now we expect them to make it every yr. Next yr, whenever it starts, we will expect a lot more. Several key memories from the regular season: Not scoring first often Bad second periods Have hard time protecting the lead in the third Too many Too many men penalties. SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Gutsy effort and it almost worked. Boys didn’t have their legs. No fault of their own, but it was clear every time they tried to break out up the ice. Fatigue was obvious and so many of our fast players looked slow. No lack in heart, just too much effort was expended this postseason and not enough recovery time. Played a compressed schedule against a team that wears down opponents even under normal circumstances. No surprise our guys ended up gassed. Still, I credit Green for the “rope a dope.” Like I said at the top, it almost worked. We had chances. Cash on one or two of those, and Demmer would have probably held the fort and delivered the win. It was close. Boeser’s chance could have easily been the game winner. Tough to watch these games, with the lopsided shot totals, but it was a decent strategy, under the circumstances. Canucks for the most part kept the shots to the perimeter, and snuffed out passing plays that moved Demko side to side. The few times they gave up chances from “home plate,” the team collapsed well and didn’t allow Vegas to pick up any garbage in front. They gave up tonnes of shots, but managed to give Demko the sight lines he needed to make the saves. It took a perfect shot, with multiple screening players, and just inside the bar, for Vegas to beat Demmer. That’s just hockey. The planets aligned on that shot and Vegas got the goal they needed. If that play doesn’t come together for them, it’s basically a coin flip whether or not we pull out a win in this game. Really was that close. And if you’d told me going into this postseason that we’d be tied in game seven with a 50/50 shot to advance to the Conference Finals, I’d have quite happily taken those odds. Very proud of our boys. 1 1
