AriGold2.0
We all know these teams have been trading partners in the past and I could see it again. To OTT: Thatcher Demko, Loui Eriksson, Sven Baertschi To VAN: NYI 2nd 2020, CBJ 2nd 2020 Ottawa has 37M in cap space next season. 1
Patrick Jane
Can we throw Beagle,Roussel,Sutter and Benn in there too . lol 1
YEGCanuck
I am inclined to agree with your proposal. Trading Demko after the playoffs would be difficult but as long as we don't retain any salary I would consider.

JM_
Ottawa has a pretty solid guy in Hogberg, not sure they see that much value in Demko. Detroit is the better fit imo. Edited September 7, 2020 by Robert Long

Duodenum
Melnyk is too cheap to take on multiple contracts.

Then they have to take Erickson and Baertschi, ( Demko is the one they want ) 2 seconds for Demko is a deal but not taking Erickson..
diesel_3
I actually really like it for asset management...gather some draft capital and create more cap space for when our young guns' rookie contracts start poppin'!

I hate to admit this, but that’s a pretty good deal for both teams I believe. It sucks because I honestly believe that Demko is the next Carey Price, and people can laugh at me all they want for saying that. I’d probably still be in lichee to say no though. Demko is in Petey and Hughes territory for me now. We need to find a way to keep him imo. I do like your proposal however.
Patrick Jane
New Jersey, Ottawa, Detroit are our best options for dumping salaries like Eriksson, Beagle, Sutter, Roussel, Benn. Maybe Ferland on LTIR Resign Markstrom, Tanev, Toffoli (if reasonable price) and RFA's.
qwijibo
Adding Demko to two massive cap dumps and expecting two 2nds in return seems way to optimistic. 2

It's Pierre Dorion... so its worth a try.
BarnBurner
Not sure why many are willing to trade Demko while "he's a hot commodity" to try to gain cap space or obtain that illusive super star RHD. It's a small sample size, sure. But, he's only 24, and he's way ahead of Marky at the same age. Plus, he's in the same age group as most of the core. He has the potential to become that elite goalie that every team would hate to play against. Figure out another way to deal with the cap. 2 1
Rabbit
I believe trading of Demko is a crazy idea at this moment. If we wish to cut the cap for the position of Goalie, we should think Marky, he is much expensive.

Not sure Massive is the correct term. Loui has 2.5M over 2 years once his SB is paid. We could also take Gaborik back whos on perma IR with 1 year left at 4.875. Ottawa would probably rather pay somebody to play then sit on the sidelines.
Nuxfanabroad
Hell attach LouiE to Quinn Hughes & trade him to NJ for a boatload. I'd prefer that to dealing TD!

JeremyCuddles
Imagine getting rid of Eriksson and Baer AND walking home with two 2nd rounders. Love Demko, but I dunno if he's THAT good just yet.
