Talent alone cannot win anymore - this ENTIRE team seriously needs to start outworking teams to even have a chance to make the dance.  Seems like their opponents are treating these games like playoffs intensity already and maybe they have been caught by surprise and still stuck in November.  Regardless, good luck to them.

If someone's giving their all but is struggling but another person is half hearted and not taking things seriously and stumbling, should they be treated equally?  Nope.  You have to evaluate individuals as such.  The standard should be work hard every shift.  The results may not always reflect that.

 

Someone like Petey is very hard on himself and he needs time to work through this.  And he will.  Good teachers recognize when someone maybe has "earned" a little more leeway than some others.

No says you don't use it as a teachable moment.  You don't cut his eyes ce time without working with him.

 

And if other players see the standard doesn't apply to everyone, they'll quit on their coach
