All Seth Jones sees is monaaaaaayyyyy

Yup.  The Hawks gutted their draft future to get Jones, and then grossly overpaid him with a new contract.  They killed their club for the next eight years.  And that’s too funny!

Loser team. Loser players. Loser city.

I wonder if Jones regrets signing that deal with them now? he could have got something similar elsewhere.

Kane and Toews are over the hill, forgive the cliche but Father Time is undefeated.    Hawks will need some young pieces to work out if they want to do anything during Jones contract.

Kane is not in his prime anymore but he's still a really good player. If they want to do something now they're better served keeping him than dealing him for futures.

The Hawks traded their high draft picks to get Jones.  They are done.

Except for the locker room issues.  New management might want to get rid of both Kane and Toews for their character issues and start fresh.

Totally. The Hawks had their successes but have tainted that by their own actions. It’s a real stain on a storied franchise. The only way to ever get past this is to purge and start fresh. In fact, it’s probably best optically for them to flounder for a couple seasons as “karma” or retribution for their transgressions. I realize that’s not the best business model, but when you’re losing sponsors and are the face of the dark side of the NHL, it’s likely the best PR option. No one wants to see a perennial “winner” commit a disgusting act and then keep on winning.

move out Kane and Toews.
take the returns. Kane could fetch a great return. Accumulate assets.

keep a low profile and re-emerge in a couple years with a revamped lineup and front office that has no relation to the past. People won’t forget what has happened, but at least they’ll feel that in some capacity justice was served…even if by nature the Hawks were going to have to rebuild at some point anyway.

I'm not sure how they manage to get rid of Captain Clown and his contract though.  Teams aren't going to be lining up for an overpaid, over the hill center who's a cancer in the room.  They'll probably have to either buy him out or let a lot of the return from 20 Cent balance itself out.

His deal expires at end of next season. That’s not too far away. Could also see him injured again this season and then LTIR’d until retirement at end of contract.

Watch the team make another boneheaded move and immediately give him an office job, haha.

What makes me think that he could be traded is the potential outcome of the NHLPA investigation and the desperate need for the Hawks to remove any associated names to that era, not to mention potential player backlash.
Could see him placed on LTIR and then that moved to Arizona until his deal expires to attain some obscurity.

Sat said the team won't make any moves until US Thanksgiving, not that they shouldn't or are unable to. So many people are unable to distinguish between a description of something and an endorsement of it.

It's shocking that you think people are too dumb to understand the differences in language.

We all know the Canucks should make coaching changes. We also know Aquilino is more than capable to hire and fire coaches at will, given how much money he has. The fact that Satiar Shah has indicated a timeline is relevant; this means that Green has about a month to sort this team out - or he's likely out. This is more than fair of a timeline. It gives management the time to search for a new coach. Additionally, it gives Green a warning/timeline about fixing the team. Management's statement is actually important because they have acknowledged the need to answer the call on team's changes.
