Horvat is a luxury Buffalo doesn't really need though. Tage Thompson is their 1C and has 60 points in 44 games and Dylan Cozens is their 2C with 41 points in 44 games.

If anything Buffalo needs to beef up their defense and bottom six, scoring isn't their issue at all, they need to address keeping pucks out of their net. They're 2nd in goals scored and 5th on the powerplay but they're also 24th in goals allowed, 26th on the PK, and 25th in shots on goals allowed per game.

If anything keeping Power will benefit what's currently a weakness going forward.

Power is a futue norris trophy winner.  Hes not going anywhere.

He's gotta be pretty much untouchable you'd think, Dahlin up front or not. He's a young 1OA  with size, you keep those. He also plays both sides if I'm not mistaken? You'd know that better than me.

He's still best on his strong side but he plays in all situations.  Having either him or Dahlin on the ice at almost all times is going to be quite the luxury for them.

Pretty much. They're in an enviable position really. Some good prime aged talent, plenty of young talent, oodles of picks and prospects, cap flex.

If they find a way to fit some savvy vets onto their D, bolster their bottom six, and find themselves some stability in net I could see them making the playoffs sooner than later. They're in a good spot to get better going forward.

The idea of Horvat is a good fit for the Sabres.  They definitely need more defensive/two way forwards.  Horvat seems to be viewed that way around the league.  I'm not sure the reality of Bo is a good fit in Buffalo.  PA/JR wouldn't be interested in what they'd be willing to give up. (I wouldn't think)

Horvat's a good defensive player in the sense that having him on the roster means you're winning more faceoffs, and therefore probably starting with possession most of the time when he's on the ice. He holds his own defensively but he's not a Kesler caliber two-way player. I wouldn't say he's lousy but he's not a Sutter, Beagle, Barkov, Kopitar, or Bergeron defensively.

Buffalo would honestly be better off looking for players who are more in the defensive vein for both their bottom six and for their defense, even if they don't bring as much offense. Even if their scoring took a bit of a hit they'd likely be a better overall team.

I agree on  Tage Thompson ,  but it just seems to me when I’ve watched Buffalo,  they’re lacking that vet leadership ,

Thompson is a fantastic Centerman ,  but Face offs excluded .. he is just over 40% on the dot.

Horvat is not a 1C .. if he can put together 2 more seasons like this one, then I’d say yes.

But to other young teams Horvat looks enticing right now because his overall game, and the fact he has a C on his sweater.

I think the goals against stat has to do with goaltending , and not really finding their no. 1 yet.

start to look around the league and I think a lot of us here, including myself at times , over value Horvat.

Bo's worth a lot but not as much as some have been saying. We ain't getting prospects like Wright or a young NHL top 4 RD.
