Thank you sir. And ya I notice TP always is always forchecking hard and is often the first guy in and seems to be really good at getting his own chip ins which is probably why TG loved him so much. He's a guy that isn't flashy and for that reason maybe he gets overlooked sometimes but the sh*t people say about him seems really silly. He's a guy every coach who coached him loves, including Bruce.

I don't love his contract but honestly I don't think it's egregious especially term wise, he's still pretty youngish.

I don't know why people hate his contract.  For 3.25 mill you're not gonna find a better forward than Pearson other than a guy in a breakout season or on an ELC.  He's not flashy which is why he doesn't get paid like 5 mill, but he's as good as Miller on the forecheck and is one of if not our best forward defensively.  There's a reason why his line has been the best line on the roster no matter who he's playing with the majority of the season.

I'm pretty exited about the win

While sad that Cgy won tonight, I'm also excited that they spanked Florida and embarassed them tonight.

I have no doubt they will bring extra motivation when they come to play the Oilers Thursday night.

Hopefully they destroy Edmonton and we reap the benefits of playing them on the 2nd night of a back to back.

But those teams have games in hand. I'd anything the proper benchmark is the Sharks which Canucks are still 5 pts behind

who cares, we will catch them as tbey are within striking distance with 40 games to go. Also games in hand must be won and the more games in hand you have, the more back to back games you will have. Now tell me if that is an advantage now or a disadvantage?

Wasn't this our biggest weakness? Can't defend at evens? Get caved in? Exc.?

Adjusting for GP we are likely best in the league in this stat. Pretty incredible.

Yeah, if we take into account playing against the top teams, with travel, players in COVID protocol, etc., it's pretty impressive with how well we played 5-on-5 over the course of this road trip.

The #1 gripe I had against TG was his constant blendering of lines. Literally would give lines a half a period before giving up.

Bruce has shown the patience to let lines develop and also isn't afraid to try new combos and giving them an actual audition.

TG would just go back to the same tired lines no matter how obvious it was they didn't work.

And while Bruce is tough and demands effort, he does it in a way that a young player like Hogs and Petey both took it positively and both responded well and were rewarded for it, to me that's huge.

When Petey was struggling TG gives him 13 minutes with guys that made no sense and you can see the dejection in their body language.

Bruce might cut minutes but still plays them to their strengths while going out of his way to praise them when they do well.

Honest to God I think TG was damaging Petey to the point where things could have gone worst case scenario type situation.

TG was clearly a coach that can't honestly be defended. Anyone who does is incapable of reason. A coach who has proven after five seasons that he is not an NHL coach.

I really like the Dickinson-Lammikko-Motte trio. Has speed, grit, tenacity, and defensive awareness.

I like Highmore, but I prefer him as a 13th forward. If you can keep that trio above together, it does open a door to find another top 9 forward to bring some more offense.

Pearson-Miller-Boeser have really worked well off each other that allow for a very defensively responsible and heavy line.

Podkolzin-Pettersson-Hoglander was great tonight, lots of speed, skill, and puck control line

You add Horvat and Garland together, you are missing just another top 9 guy and that forward group looks solid.

That’s why I never give a hoot about the odds. No human aspect in the odds

so true, people forget the odds usually mean Canucks continuation of playing like crap and getting in based on 2% luck that all the other teams lose. The odds never takes into account team improvement, sudden coaching changes that changes the team overall etc. Only thing odds are good for is usually in casino or playing lottery where its 100% based on luck.

Well, there is talk about Toffoli being available, and not at too huge a cap hit, but I suspect that the asking price will be too high.
