HKSR
That's actually a really good value deal. On pace for 30+ goals, plays in all situations for $5M.

If we can lockup Boeser between $6M to $6.5M for a relatively long term (4 to 5 years), that would help immensely.

I'd love him to be a Canuck, but if his contract is north of Garlands, you let him walk/trade him. He is not worth losing Horvat nor Miller over, and that's the cap world the canucks live in. 3 3 1

In fairness, Brock's offensive output has been consistent over the past 5 years. You're pretty much guaranteed 25+ goals and 50 to 60 points at a minimum. A good season for him would be 35+ goals and 70+ points. 2

The real question becomes if you prefer him to having Miller and Horvat long term. To that my answer is no. As such, the canucks need to draw a line in the sand there.

JM_
GMJB out gm'd.... I guess its OK? not sure how many 20 goal seasons he has in him but Seattle is going to stink for a while yet so they need players.

I tend to look at the past 3 years or so... otherwise we would look at Miller's entire career and say he's not worth more than $7M lol The past 3 years has: McCann: .30gpg .62ppg Boeser: .33gpg .77ppg That's about a 2 goal and 12 points difference over the course of 82 games. Is Boeser worth more? Yes. Is he worth $2M+ more? NO. Edited March 8, 2022 by HKSR 1

Goal:thecup
McCann is a much, much better skater than Brock. And a center. Brock is a much, much better person than that skunk. Character counts. But not so much in contract dollars. McCann had to settle for less, like all players may have to do for the near-term future of super-tight cap space and low revenue.
DrJockitch
Good for him. Like wild Bill, the opportunity that expansion gave him made his career. Seems a little rich for one good year but he is a decent player and they have the cap.

I'd rather see what Garland can do with Brocks deployment.
