J-P Posted March 20, 2022 Share Posted March 20, 2022 If I understand it correctly, if we don't increase our cap hit we now have enough space to pay halaks 1.5 mil bonus this year. Combine that with the 1.5 mil saved on Dermott vs Hamonic and that's 3 mil extra next year . Then praise JR who hasn't done anything up (roster wise) up until this point All the while advocating the trading of said picks. Everything Ive seen and read suggests he's more of what we need on the bottom pair, compared to what we had. I'm more worried about Demko losing confidence playing in front of a tire fire defense than a third round pick or 1.5mill in cap space. We changed a 3 mill plug, old, slow d-man who continually &^@#s up in his own end. For a younger, faster, arguably better player for half the price. JR's track record has shown that he bets on underperforming players who could use a change of scenery. Dermott can move the puck, is a good skater, and fits our age range. This is an easy dub.
