If this is a left side move to upgrade over Hunt, I love it.

Hughes
OEL
Dermott

Not a bad looking left side

Schenn
Myers
Poolman

still leaves a lot to be desired on the right

Bang on.  Dermott is going to slot in as our bottom pair LSD.  And his cap is what that spot should pay.

Well we saved 1.5 million. As long as he’s better than Hunt cause that’s what your getting if your paying your defencemen league minimum

Schenn and Burroughs are both far better than Hunt.

He won't... he will probably be traded at this point.  Gotta give to get, and he's a redundant piece on LHD.

This laughable. I wouldn't give up on Rathbone quite yet. Give the kid a real chance.

If his defensive numbers translate, he'll be a very good 3rd pairing LHD.

Schenn and Burroughs are for sure but we are lucky there. Burroughs just broke into the NHL and Schenn has revamped his game.

A quick read I just did is that he was loved in the dressing room in Toronto. One of those guys that makes his teammates laugh and loosens them up. Maybe this is more about culture change than a steal of a hockey deal.

isn't that what was said about Schmidt

the leadership group seemed to not like that

and Ballard and the fans still hate him
