DownUndaCanuck Posted July 7, 2022 Share Posted July 7, 2022 I'm not sold on Georgiev, he didn't have great numbers in New York, blew some games but he's still young and now playing behind an even better team so will probably look quite good. Thing is, their goalie doesn't have to be spectacular or a big part of their cap for them to win. When you've got a team who control the puck so much, it doesn't matter who they throw in net. This is a relatively low risk medium reward trade for the Avs. A bunch of mid to late round picks for a potential good young starter on a low cap is worth it and fits their needs right now, and if it all goes well his age will match the young core's. Yeah for sure. Prior to Vasy you weren’t seeing salaries that high winning the cup. He’s been on another level. Curious to see how he plays as Tampa has less depth and more top heavy. I love the 5M mark. Maybe 6 max. I live in South Florida and it’s just brutal the constant hate Bob gets around town for his salary and how having another 4M would allow them to keep Giroux.
