[Rumour] John Klingberg waiting on Canucks to make a move

Don’t think that have anything to do with Oel since they don’t even play together. OEL made myer look better for sure. But doesn’t mean he will make klingsberg better. The guy is not a defensive defenseman at all. He take risk offensively all the time. Why are we paying so much for OEL if the purpose of him is just to be a stay at home defenseman covering the deficiency of his partner? We are paying Oel 7+ just to be a tanev so that we can sign a klingsberg for 7+ to babysit him and let him make the risky play? So instead of looking for a defensively reliable guy to replace Myers. In the 4-5 mil range you guys want to pay even more for a guy that basically is an offensive defenseman with limited defensive skill and force OEL into a more defensive role. No wonder our cap situation is so bad we keep forcing square pegs into round holes and forcing guys to to adjust to compensate so they end up being overpaid for the role they play on the team.

OEL and Myers were partners all season, no?  Without OEL Myers goes back into the level we saw before, just like Chychscrub.

I’m saying chychrun +/- have nothing to do with OEL leaving. It’s just simply Arizona is fielding an echl team

OEL took the hard minutes in Arizona.  He was “the guy” there.  When Chychscrub had to take on that responsibility (wasn’t sheltered anymore by OEL) we saw him go Green Jacket.  “Rub a dub dub, he’s a Scrub.”

its sad to watch the best years of a guys career be pissed away by an owner who doesn't care at all how the team performs. But hey at least they get to play in a college rink, once all the other NCAA sports are finished with it :picard:

Why that team, is still in ARI is just silly.   New arena or not, it's going to be the arshole of the NHL body,  until they wise up and move the team somewhere else (hoping the Nords).

He already had them firing on all cylinders last season. The belief is there.

I don’t think it’s being too optimistic. This team showed they’re capable of winning in the second half. Just about putting the effort in consistently, which is no different than any team.

The talent and drive is there.

8th in the conference in points percentage from 1 January onwards.   15th in the league and 4th in the division.  Nashville was the team that would have slipped out of the playoffs - the 7 teams ahead of the Canucks during that stretch got in.

Calgary lost scoring but improved defensively. Edmonton will have a full season of Kane and does look to have improved in goal.  LAK kept their roster other than swapping Brown for Fiala.

And Vegas and Dallas got worse. Less competition.

Are your trying to spin the numbers and ignore that they won at an almost .700 points percentage when it mattered?

As soon as they lost Bo and Demko it was over. They more than proved they could be in the pack for top 3 in the division had it not been for their horrendous start. Had they just gone .500 under Green they were easily a playoff team.

Keep spouting off useless drivel though…

The Coyotes will soon have their saviour - Auston “Pants Down” Matthews.

Cowpies are stinky.  They miss the playoffs.

Coilers have a cancer that feeds on the security of a juicy contract.  They will implode.

We are winning the Pacific!

Wake up from your morning nap JR; it’s time to plan the parade! :frantic:

That ranking ignores the start of the season for all teams - it's the rankings for 2022 only.  Vancouver was 8th in the conference under Boudreau from 1 January onwards.  Vegas was not among the top-8 and also didn't make the post-season.

Other teams lost players and faced adversity too - it's all part of the game to get into the post-season.

Canucks were absolutely a playoff team under Boudreau

Only problem is even his coaching couldn't fix the defense. So while we're a playoff team, I think we're likely a 1st round exit playoff team til that gets fixed

ARI to Quebec throws the east/west balance out of whack though. We have Seattle, might as well do Portland next. It will be great for our roadtrips... i mean ughh, great for the league!

Without an arshole you couldn't get rid of floaters like Loui, Roussel, and Beags though. ;)

This is blind optimism imo. Vegas will for sure be way better and I would say almost guaranteed to finish ahead of us. Dallas is always good and will remain a well coached team. LA is better with Fiala plus natural progression. Nashville is far better. With the current roster the Canucks will be in a dogfight to make the playoffs all year and they won't be getting a coaching bump this year. In fact the pressure will be massive out of the gate.

P.S. When it actually mattered ... over the 82 game schedule the Canucks were .561. I think it's pretty telling when fans only choose the parts of the schedule to use where they win games. I mean any fan can predict their team will be in the playoffs with that system.

Let’s just ignore the fact they beaten a team that made the playoff a grand total of 13 times in 5 months in the 32 games against playoff teams since Bruce took over.

sure the canucks will probably end up being a playoff team if they continue to beat up on the non playoff teams. But doesn’t mean much if u get bounced in the 1st.

he should pre-announce that. That organization is a joke, and a finger in the eye to the rest of the league.
