Boeser needs a change of scenery. He’s young enough to still be attractive for a rebuilding squad.

send him to Chicago or Detroit

Ideally he scored 25+ and 60 points. Then maybe we get some value. Bjorkstrand only got a 3rd and 4th after similar production and age on a cheaper deal. Not sure if that's a good comp though as CLB was trying to open up cap like crazy to do their UFA signings lol

So Boes is out?  I missed that.

Maintenance day or??

My 2 cents.

1, According to Bruce, Boeser is having a "maintenance day" which I guess translates to a minor injury. He may or may not play on Monday. Even if he is healthy he is more deserving of being healthy scratch than Garland was.

2. I assume that if Boeser is healthy on Monday he plays with Petey and Podz moves to the left wing. I would not mind seeing Boeser with Petey. Petey's biggest problem this year is that his wingers have been unable to cash in his great set ups. Boeser is at least an excellent shooter.

3. All in favor of moving Miller to the wing.  The main reason is that he has been playing like sh*t at center, getting crushed in the underlying analytics numbers and looking pretty bad by the eye test. But he had enough skill to get 99 points last year (even though that was no doubt an outlier career year for him). As a winger he has a simpler role and maybe he is able to recapture his ability to score and to drive play more generally.

4. Pearson deserves to be demoted to the 4th line, but that line should be good enough defensively for at least some shutdown matchups.

5. Big opportunity for Aman. He has been one of the few positive surprises this year. Let's see how far he can push it.

Miller is a winger which means if he can’t be moved, Brock needs to be before next year. Too much money on wing and Kuz will need signing. Our best prospects (which isn’t saying much) are wingers.
need to move some wingers and start getting back futures on D and up the middle. Some right shooting ones would be great.
Speed, Size and youth that is what we need and want in any moves.

If Boeser is out his is what I run:

Miller-Pettersson-Garland (Primary Scoring Line)

Kuzmenko-Horvat-Mikehyev/Podkolzin (Secondaary Scoring Line)

Pearson-Aman-Podkolzin/Mikehyev (Checking Line)

Joshuaa-Lazar-Hoglander (Energy Line)

Miller will have two of our hardest working forwards with him.

And worst case he will trigger man peteys set ups that one thing that is still there, his shot.

A lot of love for a 26 yr old rookie who has 2 points in 6 games, is a minus 5, plays powerplay 1, misses a lot of shots and played with our best playmaker.

Somehow he's more valuable than Brock who is tied for third in points.

Remember the good old days, when we had 3 first line centers?.

Now we have to move an underperforming center to the wing.

So they play 2 first line centers, and 2 fourth line centers, in the middle.

Pearson Horvat Boeser- put it together and leave it together. Former number one line, give it 5 games, then re assess.

Kuzmenko Petey Podz   best line this year.    Keep this together

Mikheyev Aman Miller

Joshua    Lazar   Hogs

Switch Hogs and Miller after a couple of games, if required.

Chicago are in a tear down rebuild that could last 5 years if not more per Davidson.  They traded DeBrincat as he would be too old once they are out of their rebuild - Boeser is older than him.

Have been saying this all off-season. We had one NHL centre at the beginning of the off-season, Bo. JTM is winger who takes faceoffs, centre is a very different position.
‘JTM has suffered from being depended upon as a C and really should stay at wing.
‘EP on the other hand is thriving with the two way responsibility. He just needs to get average on faceoffs.
Problem is there is not another centre of note in the organization. No guy in the AHL that screams NHLer, mostly lower level prospects at C.

Some potential wings and goal prospects over the next few years but almost nothing at C or D.

I’d be rolling:

Kuzmenko Petterson Miller

Garland Horvat Boeser

Mikheyev Aman Podkolzin

Joshua Lazar Hoglander

Pearson

I think Podkolzin and Petterson are and should continue to be a thing for the next decade. That is the core of the line we should build around. Pettey needs that big dog, hard nosed puck hound winger that Podz is growing onto.  He can grow into Pettey’s Bertuzzi.

Would be so nice to beat out Chicago for Bedard.
‘Would be just like the league to give Vancouver’s local kid to the Blackhawks. Another Bettman middle finger to Canadian clubs.

Honestly if we got the 1st overall pick, knowing Canucks luck, Bedard will end up being a bust or riddled with injuries while Michkov becomes the best Russian to ever play the game.
