I get it in the hockey sense...but teams battle through periods of mediocrity...not many just blow through a season and take it all. A decade or so of promoting team tank....you might consider giving it up at some point. It ain't happening (at least as far as a "game plan" goes). Teams don't plan to lose...sends the wrong message. You don't want your team to rely on potential future "other guys"...you want them to work towards being "the" guys. Providing the slim chance it even happens ,or how sure they think that 1 player will immediately turn things around ,how’s that working out for Edmonton? Ray's a straight shooter but pretty sharply opinionated; he's toned that down and its a good schtick now. I always liked him as a player, 'cept against us, of course; gritty doesn't half describe him. Different era than today too.
