He had never been around it before, .. that was a comment he made at 21yrs old,. And all he basically said was it stinks of weed. He was honest. It does stink, it stinks a lot in that part of the city where he was staying. What should he say ? He really likes it? That would go over well too wouldn’t it ?.. especially at the NHL Level. some might think it was immature to say that,. but it shows more immaturity on those “clowns” who call him out over it , for speaking the truth. He's just entered his prime and if he's really commited to his fitness, he'd be pretty valuable on the back end, even in a 3rd pairing role, and change the make up of the defense group. Don't know why some people don't want him on the team just because their feelings were hurt when he left. He was asked about things that surprised him and were different and he said the town smelled like weed as a light hearted response. The only negative thing he said about his experience was that no one talked to him and he never knew why he got minutes one game and then benched the next.
