mll
Was on IR till now - tore his ACL at the Worlds last May. Seattle already has their 2 goalies in Jones and Grubauer. Driedger has a year left at 3.5M.
Bob.Loblaw
Hmmm. He seems to be back from a torn ACL. I wonder why they didn't just put him on a conditioning stint.

Maybe they're hoping some playoff team needing a goalie would take him before they see if he's damaged goods on a conditioning stint? Even if they went with a conditioning stint, they'd likely have to waive him anyway after that's done.
brian42
Considering the Canucks need a goalie could be worth a gamble. His first season in Seattle(last year) was t great .899 save percentage but he looked really good in Florida prior to that. Only 28 years old. Is 3.5 million for next year before he’s a UFA too risky?
BCNate
He will clear, then we take him off their hands with them adding a pick. We need a backup goalie, big time.

MattWN.
We don't need another bad goalie, and we need a good goalie even less. Save the roster spot, cap space, and PASS.

morrissex95
Get a pick from the Kraken to take him off their hands then ship out Demko for picks and prospects. Driedger can alternate with a new young goalie that we acquire from another team. The Sabres, for instance, have Luukkonen, Levi and Portillo in their system. Portillo probably walks but Levi and Luukkonen are both no.1 caliber goaltenders. Then there's Minnesota, who have Wallstedt and Gustavsson. Wallstedt is untouchable but Gustavsson is only 24 and looks pretty good. There's some guys that we can get through the draft, Silovs is decent and might be an NHL guy one day. Boston has Swayman backing up, they've got Ullmark as their starter who is the best goalie in the NHL right now. If Swayman comes available and we sent JT Miller their way and the goalie was part of the package coming back, that might be a good move. IDK folks just spit-balling here
GB5
I'm happy if the Canucks pass on all waiver fodder and leave contracts available for college free agent frenzy time. 2 1

MW not as much but hasn't been near as good as he was in Florida. Maybe Calgary should claim him their goaltending has been atrocious. N7Nucks
Throw us a 2nd rounder and a 5th rounder for my pal Future Considerations. Or Spencer Martin/Delia. Just for contract space reasons.
RakuRaku
Take him for next season?? he's pretty good, way better than Martin and Delia....

Don't need another 3.5 on the books next year for an average goalie coming off a major injury.

He was a 1 hit wonder and wasnt great in the playoffs. Too much against the cap for a cap strapped team even with 50% retention. There should be capable backup goalies with NHL experience in free agency that we dont have to spend much on.

For sure. The Nucks have $6.783 in cap space, so that is more than enough to sign whatever college players. They also have enough to add retention in a trade (Boeser or Garland) at TDL.
