Keep in mind that trades can come in like 30+ minutes after the deadline.

  2. 7-2-1 in the last 10 with one of the easiest remaining schedules in the entire league.  I'm afraid we've seen this scenario before....

Maybe, with guys all playing the right way within a proper structure, we are a good team?  We have Demko back, who can carry the club when struggling. Petey, Hughes, Miller are elite difference makers.

Our annual season run to secure a crappier draft pick is like screwing timmy the mailroom clerk in hopes of getting a raise.  we're literally screwing ourselves to the middle.

  3. After DeAngelo gets bought out today please remember he's garbage as a teammate before suggesting he can change and we should sign him.

Isn’t this guy a 60 point right shot D?  How much of a creep (and locker room cancer) must this guy be for no team to want him?

@Alfliveshe also is as bad as Barrie, Rielly, and Gardiner in his own zone.  He's KHL bound.

  4. Anyone else have CDC go unavailable to them for 15min or so this morning?

Yep. Immediately checked cap friendly/tsn/nhl.com to see if petey and huggy signed.:sadno:

Lol, that's what I initially thought as well - double signing announcement shut down CDC...

  5. Are tree tattoos the new barb-wire arm-band replacements for hipsters?

    1. SabreFan1

      SabreFan1

Barb-wire arm bands were the choice of the edgier skanks back in the 80's-90's.

When did it become a hipster thing?

  7. CBJ vs. AZ, what result is better for our tank?...... ...I'm guessing AZ win in OT, or...?

    1. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

Alternating OT wins and losses for both. Better for the Tank if both get points.

Arizona in ot but I think CBJ wins this instead

  8. Dang, just turned on draft and so disappointing to see Maguire there.

  9. Do you block recent profile visitors from being seen on your settings?  If so, why?

  10. Down to 3 winless teams in the league.  All 3 play on Thursday - some team will still be winless on Friday.

  11. Dual offer sheet the same team?  I wouldn't do it, but it'd be fun watching the fallout if someone did:

We should just target Vegas with the threat to OS Hague, then lowball them for his and Roy's RFA rights.

Nah don't $&!# where you eat. You piss of a GM and risk alienating membership in the old boys club...

GM's that try the offer sheet route tend to lose their jobs pretty quickly afterwords.

      Thanks Vinny, appreciate the perspective.

I understand where the jokes are coming from,  but I can assure people I'm not the worrying type whatsoever.   I so rarely see the Dr that my family Dr actually dropped me as a patient (but I convinced him to see me again).  Bottom line my Dr said I definitely did the right thing in making an appointment- we're doing a battery of testing to, as you said Vinny, rule things out....

as a 84 going on 97 year old, i have copd, diabetes, enlarged aorta, fatty liver, unhealthy kidneys, plus i had a 5 bi-pass surgery in 2017. putting that along side arthritis in 5 areas of my spine several cancers that weren't fatal, makes me a walking time bomb. at my age i don't care. good luck to you as you seek help.

    4. Ghostsof1915

You can't go Joe. The Canucks need to win a cup first. You gotta stick around for that!

First look at this new Flames team. Going to be interesting

  14. Have to admit, this did surprise me:

While it might surprise some, the most dangerous line in the NHL this season has been the Ilya Mikheyev-Elias Pettersson-Andrei Kuzmenko trio. The trio is averaging 2.13 goals per 20 minutes of ice time, the best of all 49 lines with at least 100 minutes played at five-on-five.

      Blue Jay 22

That line has a good mix of two way play, offensive creation, and European flair to it.

  15. Hope you're proud of yourself JR, that was one of the most classless debacles in franchise history.   Sad part, the books not closed on this wasted season.

Good point, I think we should all be somewhat concerned.  Other than signing Kuz, can anyone list a meaningful move this management has made?

@naslund.is.king  We went ducted.  They put a big distribution box in the attic and eight vents around the house.  It keeps the whole house nice and cool.

  17. How are people feeling about the recent Bill Peters hiring in the WHL?

    1. Citizen Erased

      Citizen Erased

If he is truly remorseful and has learned from his past behaviour, I am okay with it. I’m all for second chances, within reason of course.

As long as he loses every game, and is fired at the end of the season.

      I'm good.

      Citizen Erased

If he loses every game, I doubt that he would make it to the end of the season.

  18. How long should an NHL franchise 'rebuild' take you ask:

    3. NewbieCanuckFan

      NewbieCanuckFan

@Coconuts So our farm system isn't in that great a shape after 7 years.  Much like what it was like after Gillis was canned.  And even the home run hits were trending/developing the wrong direction prior to JR being the GM (and hiring coach Bruce) save Hughes.

    4. J-23

      J-23

We never did a rebuild in the JB era. Now new management is in a tough position. Rebuild properly or re-tool and try to become competitive in a couple of years. They going with option 2 which I think will be a mistake. Unless we can flip Miller for something good like a 2nd OA, Kakko+Schenider/Chytil+Krav, etc.

  19. I can't follow a sport that is fundamentally based in no small part on which players can 'dive' and 'fake' better than the other team's.

    3. logic

      logic

I am also guessing you have never been clipped in the heel, or shin with metal studs while running full speed lol is there simulation? of course, but a lot of the times you dive or keep your momentum going rather than stopping awkwardly and increasing risk of injury

  20. I knew the HNIC panel would support the TO trade, but this is ridiculous.  It's comical to watch.

or the Leaf media is crap because they are positive

what are you doing watching a Leafs game anyway?

      1st overall or bust.

    2. Phil_314

Still a win -- Fantilli and Carlsson (and to a lesser extent Michkov given his contract) are supposed to be special too.
I doubt the Sabres were too disappointed in 2015 when they got Eichel instead of McDavid (I mean there's still a gap, but Eichel in that instance was still elite, so I think it'd be the same for whichever of the other kids we would get at #2).

  23. Jagr can't seem to stay out of the news, got T-Boned in his EV:

  24. Just noticed TSN put both WJC semi-final games on their 4/5 channel.  Probably because there aren't any Laffs prospects on Team Canada.

I guess airing 2 teams fighting it out for last place in the CFL instead of WJC will increase ratings lol.....^_^
