Agreed.  I've never been an NHL scheduler, but I think every team should have played their first game by the second night of the season.  Three Original six matchups on opening night, everyone else on the second night.  Of course, one team would have to play on both, but it would be a great way to start the season.

Mrs. Alf cooked the bird this year wrapped in bacon.  Oh my God!  The gravy was literally to die for.  The meat all had bacon flavour.  I know this may sound disgusting to some here, but I've already thrown up twice, just to make room for more.  I'm thinking this is a hat trick bird.

Oh it's just the politics Cerridwen. always with the politics. I only watched for the first fifteen minutes or so and he was already whining about those dastardly Russians. I just wish they would send sportscasters to the Olympics, and, you know, let them handle the sports.

I don't watch newscasts on tv anymore so I guess I'm a little more sensitive to it, but still...

Thanks for the update, Salmonberries I came into the broadcast late and I am of the mind that politics just need to be left out of any discussion when it comes to the actual happenings at the Olympics or opening/closing ceremonies or performances by the athletes themselves. I was also a tad annoyed by the 'rah rah' of the Brazilian dudes who were speaking....... get on with it already! lol
