The Lock
Yeah, looks like the real deal. Goalies are famous for being very hard to judge, especially in their draft year, but being the top ranked goalie in his entire age-group is pretty significant... and just look how he's continued to develop. Loved the pick then, but I wasn't expecting him to be quite this dominant at this stage. Thatch is slowly working his way to the top of the heap as far as goalie prospects are concerned. But I agree about Markstrom. The guy is 6'6 and has insane upside. If he continues to improve at the NHL level and can start to dominate like he did for Utica last year, he might be our guy going forward. Either way, we will continue to groom Demko and slow-roast his development. But I really think we should not discount Markstrom. Watching him play, you start to see why Benning and co. went with him over Eddie. He's just got a little bit of that X-factor.It's all about the long-term I say. When Lack was traded, I mostly shrugged. I figured they probably saw something in Markstrom that they didn't see in Lack.I see Miller also as a temporary goalie for us until we get that young tandem we're looking for. Last year, when we drafted Demko and signed Miller for 3 years (or however long it was I forget), it seemed pretty inevitable the plan Benning had: have Miller here as Demko grows into the number 1 spot.I didn't know what the plan was with Lack or Markstrom though, but that page is starting to fold over and reveal itself gradually. Gaudette Celly
How's his puck handling coming along? If he were to develop that, he'd be an outstanding complete package. The Canucks in their history have had very few that handle the puck well, although it's not a common commodity.
DeNiro
Demko having a very human night. He allows 2 goals in under 2 minutes after his team made it 4-1. Hopefully he can secure the W.

DeNiro
I wouldn't fault him too much, it sounds like the Eagles are getting badly outplayed in the third. They seemed to just quit after it was 4-1. DeNiro
BC pulls off the regulation win after some dicey moments late in the game.Demko gets the W but his SV% and GAA take a bit of a hit. Edited November 14, 2015 by DeNiro

SvenBae
Was he due for a tough game? His numbers were unsustainable, especially when he's only 19, but honestly, this kid looks like a superstar in the making. Been impressed with him .since seeing his intense focus during last WJC

gizmo2337
When we drafted Schneider, I knew he was going to be something special. We've been pretty good about developing our goalies in the system. Demko is another level up from our previous G prospects... Elite potential. He's going to be really really good one day. In fact, if he so chooses, he could probably turn pro next year. If that will happen, remains to be seen...

I know my opinion means nothing but watching him play he just seems perfect in all aspects of goaltending. I really think he's going to be an elite difference maker down the line Edited November 20, 2015 by thehockeygenius

Coconuts
He's our best goalie prospect since Schneider, and look what he's blossomed into. Apparent present wealth doesn't mean we should fritter away assets, there's no guarantee Markstrom will be the #1 guy people are hoping he'll evolve into. I mean, there's no guarantee Demko will be either, but as of right now he's looking more and more like a blue chip goalie prospect and he's the only one we've got. There are other ways to pick up a young D, and it'll likely have to be through the draft. We've drafted Demko, let's be patient and see what we can draft for our D pool.
