Shocking....Booth remain unsigned

There could be some team that could be interested in him playing for cheap to try to prove that he still belongs in the NHL. I'm guessing a lot of teams think that ship sailed long ago. He's injury prone and has barely produced anything in a few years. He doesn't have the best vision and he is horrible at passing. Also may not be completely focused on hockey with his personal endeavors.

I think that GM's could be staying away from him due to all these red flags. I'm thinking he'll probably end up with a PTO and if he doesn't impress, then his days in NHL will be over.

I don't have any reason to not like Booth, so I hope I'm not coming off as some sort of "Booth hater". I just don't think he's a very good hockey player.

is there a need for a post like this? The guy played hard for us. Yes he is not on our team anymore, but do you enjoy bashing all of our ex-players who you don't like? And no, I don't agree that he tried to make himself look good by playing hard at the end of the season, he's played consistently the same way for the Canucks during his time here. He may not be a NHL quality player any more, but there's no need to be insulting. Get some respect, and maybe a life while you are at it.

Booth would be a good bottom 6 guy to any team.

An energy player that can pot in 20-30 points a season and be a presence physically.

Booth's cons are that he isn't reliable defensively and he has been fragile.

I thought his con is that he isn't reliable offensively.

Lol at people suggesting hockey isn't his focus... why? because he has a hobby in the summer?? haha he worked hard for us all the years he's been here. Maybe at the end of the season a real sense of desperation kicked in and it was like he was in playoff mode. But to suggest that he slacked off or he isn't focused enough is laughable. I appreciate Booth for all his efforts and years of service and you can tell how nice of a person he is just by his interviews. I hope someone gives him a chance to prove himself again, if Dustin Penner is still in the NHL after all these years of irrelevance then I'm thinking Booth has a good shot. He'd be a good bottom 6 guy to have

I agree with what the OP is saying. As for my post I'm just calling it as I see it. Yea, maybe it's a little harsh but whatever. Me and along with a lot of other Canuck fans thought of his time here as a huge disappointment, especially at his cap hit.

As for the bolded part, that makes you seem like a hypocrite. Saying not to insult him by insulting people who don't agree with you.

Raymond had to go to a pto last year to get a contract. That actually surprised me. Booth not being signed a week into free agency is some sort of surprise? Not really. Although I will be surprised if he has to go to a pto.

There are lots of players as-good-or-better than Booth still out there.

Derek Roy

Dustin Penner

Devin Setoguchi

Dany Heatley

Brendan Morrow

Steve Ott

David Moss...

There are probably teams trying to sign these guys, who may miss out and move on to Booth.

this thread is dumb

Yah, its like still following & dissing..., Ballard, Raymond, Hodgson...some of the others. If we would not be interested in bringing them back....let 'em go. Booth may return to hockey, ...he may not,.. heck, he may even open-up a fitness retreat & hunting lodge, somewhere....it just doesn't matter.

We have way more contemporary & relevent things to discuss here, especially this off-deason,....so stop flogging a dead mule or horse...and just let him go.

That's a miss.

It's the secondary free agent market and is totally normal. Teams have been trying to get their RFA player's re-signed so they know what their needs are and what cap room they have. From the players perspective thee bigger name ones need to decide where they are going before the secondary ones (like Booth) are scooped up by the teams who miss out on the primary guys.

Its the same every year. Those left without a dance partner go to PTO.

It is really not shocking, it is business as usual. Someone will take a flier on Booth for his size and his willingness to crash the net. As a bottom 6 guy on a low value contract he could be a great gamble to take.
