CanuckinEdm
2 more years after this one at 3.5mil I could see someone picking him up he is an NHL dman.
Tre Mac
I reckon he's a better option than 2 of the AHL calibre defensemen we use. Dubynk and Perty found a better game when they left the Coil maybe Fayne will too.
DalesArmy
Toronto will pick him up so Frankie Corrado wont be so lonely riding the pine.

Quantum
Pass. He's got 1 point (an assist) in 24 games played this year and he's a -8. The Canucks have better defensemen both on the NHL level and on the AHL level... also, no sense wasting cap space on him.
coryberg
When he clears the Oilers will have 13.55 million dollars of wasted salary that aren't playing for them (nikitin at 4.5, Fayne at 3.5, ference at 3.25 and scrivens at 2.3)
YEGCanuck
It comes as no surprise the Oil continue to demonstrate a level of gross incompetence never before displayed by a so-called professional sport organization. After a decade of losing hockey the curse of Kim Jong Lowe and MacT still have a negative impact on their performance. The Oilers are the team time forgot. TOMapleLaughs
Just not that good a defenseman, unfortunately. The Devils did not develop a hidden gem there. At some point the Oilers MUST trade for a decent defenseman. Right? But it will be something like Eberle for Luke Schenn.

At the very least, when these guys are down in OKC they get to watch some decent college football. That's a lot of drugs that Katz has to retail out of his pharmacies to meet the dead payroll. Provost
If the Oilers are happy to pick up 50% of his salary, there will be takers. He is a fine bottom pairing guy, but just not at the price he is paid.

Ilya Mikheyev
Definite pass at that cap hit, esp. with 2 more years left on the contract. Canucks might be vaguely interested if they took on 50% cap, but it probably makes more sense for Edmonton to use their compliance buyout than take 1.8M for the next two seasons. He was pretty awful in the that last game.

The compliance buyouts are long gone. Each team only had 2 and they had to be used before the 2014-15 season.
WHL rocks
No one claiming him at $3.625 mill per year for 2 more years after this. I think they'll bring Nikitin back up for another chance.
