TGT68
The real puzzler to me is that I don't think we see more than three rookies next year......but we have like 10 kids fighting for those three spots. EP, Gaudette, juolevi, Demko, dahlen are obvious but we have a high first round pick and several dark horses in Lind, Brisebois, Chatfield, Macewen to go with a few older rookies like Holm, Boucher and Goldobin. Nothing like competition for spots.

Win the draft lottery and draft Dahlin and screw the hockey world over by keeping Petterson Dahlin and Dahlen in Europe or in utica for another half or full season and hear how we're "doing it all wrong" for kicks

Popular Post Kuzy
I was able to catch the kelowna game in victoria tonight, and I thought I'd provide a perspective on Lind: Victoria played a great game as they won 6-1, Outhouse our goalie stopped 40-something shots, and kelowna had some pretty good chances. My take on Lind is pretty consistent with other commenters, he plays a strong offensive game when he is motivated for the puck, I noticed him coasting around a little bit, but on the other hand had the ability to ramp it up a notch and lead the charge for kelowna offensively. He went scoreless tonight but easily could've had a goal (breakaway chance that ended up in a nice save), as well as a couple assists. He made a couple of beauty passes that should have been buried by his linemate Twarynski. Ran the point/Boeser spot on the power play, and was the focal point of offense when he was on the ice, especially on the PP. Makes very solid crisp passes and has very good vision, making NHL level plays. All in all a very solid player who looks like a first round talent, with the ability to take over a game, a Kesler type of attitude that got under victoria players' skin in between whistles, but also perhaps not giving it 100% for the full 60 minutes. Putting two very young rookies plus another inexperienced player on a line is a recipe for trouble, something very unlikely to happen aside from when they already have decently-developed two-way games. Coaches won't do that unless there are no other alternatives. How about Hyman Matthews Nylander? Cagguila McDavid Draisaitl? Domi Dvorak Duclair? Mantha-Larkin-Athanasiou line earlier which had an average of 22.3 years old I think your objection is irrelevant with regard to facts. Many young players now days have been very well coached and many are also extremely fit compared to earlier times.

Need at LEAST one solid vet on there, even if it's Eriksson, but more likely a C, even Granlund maybe although he's better on the wing as well. Green was opposed to BB even getting into the lineup at the start of the season but BB forced his way up the lineup in no time at all... With Green's history of how he made the NHL I think he may be just a bit reticent to play rookies up the lineup but he still has eyes in his head ( except where Gagner is concerned for some reason) so if EP does what Brock did....score a point pretty much every game...I can't see Green keeping him in the AHL or the 4th line (unless we call the Sedin line the 4th line next year). Still in the Lind thread and I would like to see Kole get a shot by trade deadline time next year.... Whiile I'm here I might as well post my high hope lineup for next year by Xmas or so: Dahlen / Pettersson / Boeser Baer / Horvat / Virtanen Granlund / Sutter / Eriksson Gaunce / Gaudette / MacEwen or Lind Dowd If the sedins come back then Dowd and MacEwen are not and Gaunce is #13.... Popular Post Vanisleryan
Was at the Royals game tonight and Lind is a definite gamer. He must have had 6 or 7 shots, had a beauty of a one timer for a goal on the PP. Plays alot more chippy than I expected too. He goes hard to the net and doesn't back down from anyone either. Cant wait to see this kid in a Canucks uniform. Oh and please Benning some how get Cal Foote out of Tampa, he would be an awesome addition to our blue line. Popular Post Cup2021
As a season ticket holder for the Royals, I sit behind the Royals net for 2 periods, so I see more of the opposing team offensively. I see Lind every time the Rockets are in town. In both game's (Friday and saturday), he was always noticeable. Defiantly gritty and hard on the puck. Shows high hockey IQ. Does take some penalties for his gritty/hard nosed work ethic. He always forechecks, throws his body around and as stated, shoots as much as he can or makes a pass for a shot on goal. Every time I see him, he gets more physical and stronger on the puck. As for the defensive end, he rarely misses a check. He plays a full 200 ft. game. Lind tries to make himself open for a clearing pass, so hes always mobile. He's a keeper for sure. Kinda makes me torn, of course I want the Royals to win, but I want Lind to succeed lol. Popular Post NotJaredMcCann
Just for comparison sake, I took a look at the deeper numbers Lind (75 pts in 46) is putting up compared to Aleksi Heponiemi (96 pts in 42 gms). The results were quite surprising. Here's how they stack up (all stats taken from http://prospect-stats.com/): Also of note: Lind is leading the whole WHL in even strength primary points (goal and first assist) per 60 minutes at 3.61. The next highest is over-aged Braydon Burke at 3.4. His stat line at even strength reads 15(G)- 27(A1) - 3(A2) - 45(P) His stat line in all situations is 29(G) - 38(A1) - 8(A2) - 75(P) He's 3rd in the league in primary points per game (1.46) in all-situations trailing only Heponiemi (1.52) and over-aged Jayden Halbgewachs (1.46). To summarize: Lind is having a freakin' amazing year. Side note to all people who love following prospects: http://prospect-stats.com/ is an amazing website if you are interested in in-depth stats for players in the CHL, USHL and AHL I don't remember how I first got there, but I was lucky to stumble on it last year, and I saw on twitter that they had added this years stats. 2 4
D-Money
/\ Wow, that's really telling. Lind is getting a VERY low number of secondary assists, whereas Hepo is just raking them in. Primary points are very close.
