I see alot of people saying now the same things I said last season.

Green outmanouvered, Petey frustrated, mostly dump and chase wich takes a lot of energy  the players need to play hockey. This means that their muscles can't operate unless they get an adrenaline rush. Such as a memorable occassion like Burrows.

With frustration their muscles loose power and they play worse and can't match the other team.

Here is the coach extremely important(also the C with the As) providing a positive focus.

Travis “take a chill pill” Green and his smug face never seems to have any real answers to the team’s problems.

Then again, this team simply isn’t good enough yet. That defence is atrocious.

he sounds so cocky in his post game interviews. he speaks like he's been coaching for over a decade in the league.

To be honest though, what player wants to block a shot from Weber?

Well with our poor performance and lack of confidence game after game, a blocked shot, a scrap, a big hit, a lil nasty somewhere...just might be the spark that this group could use.

So which player would want to block Weber’s shot you ask, I was hoping to see anyone block one for their team.

Vegas Penguins Oilers next 3 games.. then Xmas break...

I don't see us winning any of those games..

Green won't last long.. he'll be gone after these 3 games coming up . They might not want to fire him a week before Xmas but his contract is guaranteed. He's signed thru next year.. it's not like he's losing his paycheck..

Id remove him tomorrow morning and bring in DeBoer...

Didn't DeBoer just get fired because his team couldn't play defence?

Not only that but sometimes he just comes off as careless or indifferent to the losses.

I know he’s known for being someone that’s a bit of a jokester and “player’s coach” but I think that type of demeanor can be a double edged sword for some teams. Especially a young team like the canucks.

It is going to be a big mistake firing JB right now. We won't even be having this conversation or even a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel without him. Could you imagine drafting Glass over Pettersson in 2017? Any run of the mill GM will draft Glass over Petey at that time.

Yes he did hand strap us with Eriksson and to a way lesser degree Myers among others but that is the price you have to pay to get UFAs to sign to a rebuilding team. The cap will sort itself out in the next couple of years when we actually have to pay for Hughes and Petey. As for the others oft injured players, who cares? LTIR is there for a reason. It is not like its your money paying those players.

Trade wise, he has gotten way better at it and in today's cap system, moving a player is very hard especially mid-season. That is why you don't see much trade. Maybe the NHL should allow cap space to be a trad-able asset. The haves can be over the cap but they will have to pay for it in draft picks, players, and prospects.

If we do need a change in gm, I would first 'promote' JB to president of hockey ops with full control over scouting and drafting since that job is still unclaimed and we can retain our advantage at the draft while allowing maybe a more experience gm deal with contract negotiations and trades.

Green on the other hand needs to go like last week! I have been saying that since October.

He took NJD and SJS to the Cup finals.

They gutted that team in the summer overpaid Ek ... Little Joe left as UFA he was the heart and soul of that team. Danskoi left to AVS ... The team is old.. Burns Vlasic up there in age. Thornton Marleau both 40 yrs old  still on the team.. it was bound to fall off a cliff .

SJS suck now. They let him go to get a different voice in the room. DeBoer was there for 4 yrs.

Why do we want deboer? A coach that went from Stanley cup final and then regressed every year until his team completely tune him out and now fired... I take an offensive minded head coach before taking another defensive minded coach.. we need someone that can at the very least unlock the offense capability of our top line.. how many games in the last couple years have we scored 2 or less? Ya defensively we might be bad atm.. but offensively we are even worse.. ain't gonna win if u cant score more than 2 goal... blowing out bad teams doesnt make you a great offensive juggernaut

Silly idea to talk about getting rid of Benning.

He has drafted exceptionally... how can you fault Pettersson and Hughes... even Gaudette is looking like a steal.

On the other hand, Green is completely out of ideas and doesn't even want to admit it.

This team... which is skilled offensively, needs a coach who can get the best out of those young offensive players.

Too bad most of the good coaches are gone....   De Boers could be a possibility, but he doesn't have a playoff winning record... although his regular season record is excellent.

Yeah but who do you have in mind available right this second? Prerequisite being having NHL head coaching experience and have some tangible results and not caught up in a scandal (aka not Willie, Babcock, or Peters).

Deboer might not be the perfect choice but he is the most ideal choice we have.

Baby steps.... Let's worry about getting into the playoffs first. Also he did get the Sharks and the Devils to the SCF.

its a good strategy for one line... maybe two..

What bothers me is, if you're going to split up a legit 1st line in Miller-Petey-Brock then you'd better be damn sure you are getting an improvement.

I also saw far too many individual efforts tonight, not a good sign that the coaching is getting through.

Its a good strategy for most teams for their 4th line.

If a team is a heavy one, then they can use the tactic on other lines.

But even big strong players can thrive in a pass and go and a complex offensive system... look at Todd Bertuzzi.

Peter DeBoer will consider coaching in NHL again this year

Sportsnet StaffDecember 14, 2019, 9:31 PM

Former San Jose Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer will consider coaching in the NHL again this year depending on the situation, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

The Sharks fired DeBoer on Wednesday after a disappointing start to the season.

“Sometimes coaches want to take time, maybe the rest of the season before they come back,” Friedman said during Saturday’s Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada. “The word is, however, that depending on the situation, Peter DeBoer is willing to listen and will consider coaching this year.

“But again, it depends on the situation.”

DeBoer finished his time in San Jose with a combined 198-129-34 record, a Stanley Cup Final appearance and a trip to the conference finals last season. The 51-year-old has also previously coached the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Panthers.

He took SJS to Cup final in 15/16 and western Conference finals last year lost to the Cup champ Blues

4 years with SJS made playoffs every year.

Stanley Cup Finals

1st round

2nd round

Conference Finals

Before that took NJD to Cup finals.
